My LotusFlower Compilation

I really enjoy LotusFlow3r all by itself. IMO what it lacks in innovation it more than makes up for in pure listening pleasure. It is cohesive which is not something you can say about a lot of Price records. Dude over the years has fused so many different types of music all onto the same CDs its not even funny. I believe this is the reason why he is not more popular with fans but is the quint essential musicians musician. That is fans (not all obviously) of Dreamer just aren't going to be down with Dance 4 Me and Somewhere Here on Earth especially if they are back to back like all of us know Prince will do in a heart beat. Anyhow LotusFlow3r like PR flows...its a great collection of songs and they sound like they all belong together.

However, when listening to it earlier this morning I found myself missing the unexpected. After Crimson and Clover I imagined the drum kick and the brittle guitar of Ol' School Company kicking in almost immediately after Clover ended. Two songs so far apart but equally brilliant one after the other. Sort of like the songs on Sign of the Times. When I got to a computer I put together the songs below and in sequence (itunes) and have been bangin it since about 8am this morning.

I'm really feeling it... what do you all think? I kept all song from LF but added the strongest songs from MPLSound and Planet Earth (IMO) to change the vibe of LF just a bit. I kept 77 Beverly Park blah blah only because I thought it important enough to the sequencing... not because I love the song.

Into the Lotus
Boom
Crimson & Clover
Ol School
Somewhere here on earth
Future Baby Mama
Dance 4 Me
The Morning After
Colonized Mind
Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful
Love Like Jazz
77 Beverly Park
Wall of Berlin
$
Dreamer
..Back to the Lotus

disjointed is really good when it works... and listening to these in sequence it was really good

no worries... I had a couple of typos and cleaned it up... but really what I was trying to say is while LF all by itself really worked for me... I missed the fact that it wasn't as diverse as Prince albums usually are... so I mixed it up a bit.
