Songs U Wish Prince had Wriitten

I wish Prince had wrote Black and Gold by Sam Sparrow and had as big a hit with it as Sam did, just to bring Prince back to life and put him back on the musical map. I think it wouldve suited Prince great. We all love his new stuff but he ll never have a hit with it like back in the 80's heyday? Anyone else have sugestions for this? I know its pointless, just a bit of fun!!

I totally agree with "Debra". It has Prince-like lyrics and overall vibe. It's just missing his falsetto.

I'd also add "Miss You" by the Rolling Stones. I think Prince even said he wish he had written that one.

I agree about Black and Gold.
And I'd love Sam to give a fresh new spin to some Prince material. Prince's songs are awesome on their own, but Sam is one the few folk who would probably do some truly worthwhile covers of some of them.

Why are some people obsessed with getting prince back in the charts or 'back on the musical map'?

Does it matter? He releases albums whether he charts or doesn't. Isn't that the most important thing?

I get the sneaking suspicion that a 'chart visible Prince' might be more about validating people's love of Prince to every one else. To somehow prove that they haven't been wasting their time all these years.

I'd be curious to hear MGMT cover something.

...and Prince cover to Electric Feel for that matter.

I just think it would be great to get Prince back in the charts and on 'the musical map' so that he can gain new fans that could join all of us in the joy of his music, after all its how a lot of us discovered it in the 1st place. Plus the charts are full of poo at the minute.
