This post just goes to show that you have no idea what "gay" is.

I am gay and can tell you that not all of us run around in drag and have loads of fag hags in tow. Some of us, like myself, are just normal everyday masculine MEN who happen to like MEN.

There's no way that Prince is gay. He likes his women too much and anyway who cares if he is? Like most men he may have had an experience with a man in his life or adolescence but is that really any of our business?

We love him for his music not his bedroom habits.

I just have to chime in here on this topic as its an area I know a thing or 2 about. I think this contributes to the topic regarding Prince.

Just because a guy is in touch with his feminine side (clothes, make up, dance moves etc) DOES NOT mean that he is necessarily attracted to men sexually. There is nothing wrong with feminine type gay men, but ALL GAY MEN are not feminine. This is a major misconception in society. Gay men are a spectrum (rainbow if you will) of diversity. I think this is one reason why folks are confused, when they meet a 'so called straight acting gay man'. I know the gay community very well and I would estimate that the feminine types are only a small percentage of the gay population and there is a whole spectrum or range of every type imaginable. So please don't fall into the trap of thinking so simplistically if you see a guy who is in touch with his feminine side or who likes to dress in a different way or whatever, that this is linked to how he is as a sexual being. Same with women by the way, I know there is another stereo type that lesbians are all butch but they are not. So called 'lipstick lesbians are also out there and a whole range of other types of people.

People are intimidated by what they don't understand. People think gay people can 'recruit' people into being gay. Being gay is not a choice, choosing to live your life in the closet IS a choice. Belonging to a church IS a choice. I have nothing against people's choices, but you can't recruit someone into WHO THEY ARE. Thats why people (particularly in America) are intimidated by gay people who don't fit neatly into the stereotypes of either a feminine gay guy or butch lesbian. This is also a major reason why there are so many people still in the closet afraid to be themselves because they to are caught up with the stereotypes and they look at themselves and think 'hey i am attracted to the same sex but i am not Jack from Will and Grace, I am just like my buddies, what am i? What's wrong with me?' And they suppress themselves in an unhealthy way. Hell I have friends who are straight but are very comfortable with their feminine side and are not so insecure that they have to 'put on an act' to look tough. The best advice I could ever give anyway discovering themselves is BE YOURSELF.

For God's sake, don't reinforce the stereotypes. Be open to diversity in the true sense of the word. Even the gay community itself is jaded and non accepting of difference, if you don't fit the look, there is something wrong with you. Stop this and stop judging and compartmentalizing. Accept there is always someone out there who is different and thats okay. Gay/Straight isn't black and white, night and day. There are hundreds of 'shades of grey' in between. You don't have to understand them all, just accept, you don't have to be either way way or another. Its okay to be in the middle, be bi-sexual! This is one of the most misunderstood and unaccepted groups of all (from both men and women).

Back to Prince. Prince is in touch with both sides of himself. He is not afraid to go there. You are. You are uncomfortable and Prince is completely at ease. I think everyone should explore themselves, you never know what you may find, this is part of the human condition. Don't contribute to the stupidity of gay stereotypes. Open your mind.

I don't want to see or hear anymore references to the 'Gay Boy Dancer' moves, the Camille outfits or the Lovesexy album cover. None of these things make Prince gay. Prince is Prince and we love him for it. No more boundaries. Don't be afraid. Accept others for who they are. If you need to bitch and moan and worry, then look in the mirror.

If people just thought logically about this then we wouldn't need to have topics like this.

It's like this, people:

1) Is there any significant, tangible evidence to suggest that Prince is gay? No.

2) Is there any significant, tangible evidence to suggest that Prince is straight? Yes, a fucking shitload.

It's really that simple, folks.

One More Time, And I live in the Halsted area in Chicago. Where heavy Gay population is at. When I made this post it was to let people know how not to judge people. I was not talking about the whole gay community as being feminine. Last night I sat down with my stepbrother and showed him this thread. He didn't think that I said anything wrong on Prince. He knew that I was trying to find a reason as to why people call Prince gay. You guys NEVER trash the person's thread that said "Prince is Grey" and all nonsense talk about how Bria looks like a man, but when someone comes around and tries to find reason on why you THINK Prince is gay... you all flame away and had luv4u almost lock my thread. And I can't speak for her, but I think she's really trying not to lock it. Prince if you are reading this, you are a really awesome person. You look at controversy and wipe it off your shoulder. And I hope that when I become an actor and have a unofficial fan site, that my fans won't treat me like SOME of your "fans" do you . Over and Im out. I leave this thread to the mercy of luv4u.
