PEACH & BLACK PODCAST: The Rainbow Children Review (part 1)

The latest episode of the Peach & Black Podcast is now up - Part 1 of our Rainbow Children album review.

Listen to the review (it's free!): http://peachandblack.podbean.com
Participate in the discussion (also free!): http://peachandblack.proboards.com

Unfortunately we had some sound issues with MC's mic, however if you can sit through that, there's a lot of great insights here. Definitely one of Prince's most controversial albums!

Part 2 will be out in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

Cool. Thanks.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Excellent! Heard it yesterday. Don't think I've ever caught one so soon after it dropped. Interesting comments. I think you dismissed the holocaust reference too lightly, but don't wanna open the worm- can here... I don't agree that P was lazy with the narrative - I think it's the opposite. It's over-construed if anything - he's creating a triple allegory. Buy you really need to be familiar with the Amarna period in Ancient Egypt to get it - which is a pretty obscure frame for a pop album, but hey!
As usual, you guys r great with the musical insights, pointing out details and interesting analogies.
Keep it up- looking fwd to part 2 (or will this b like the Wotk...?)

Thanks alot. It is nice hearing people appreciate what I think is Prince's best album. Sometimes I feel like I am alone in likng TRC around here.

Nah. It's his most polarizing album. A lot of people here love it (though most confess to having to ignore the lyrics) and a lot (like me) find it mostly nauseating and charmless in its draconian righteousness.
