rumors has it, that while in the process of making purple rain, Micheal Jackson walked on the set several times 2 watch ... has anybody else heard this rumor and is this true?

I wouldnt' be surprised...both Prince and MJ were in L.A. at the same time in late 1983...MJ was filming the "Beat It" video, and Prince was shooting some scenes for "Purple Rain" (because it was too cold to shoot some scenes in MN, they moved locations to LA)

Can everyone please stop talking about Wacko Jacko as this is supposed to be Prince.org, get it ... ... a place for people to discuss prince!!!

If you object to Jackson being discussed on the site, then either don't read the threads or raise your objection with the moderators or in the prince.org site discussion forum.

Actually, MJ was in Purple Rain. It is a little known fact, but MJ, in disguise played that hand puppet that Prince talked to in the dressing room scene. lol.

I am in no way a MJ fan, but I was reading a biography about the jackson that stated MJ visited the scenes during purple rain several times and in fact, Mj invited Prince to dinner one night at the neverland ranch sometime in 83'. MJ's mother was there, including Reba Jackson and Latoya Jackson and didn't go very well cuz Prince kept making flirtious gester with Latoya Jackson (she was young at the time) and every since then there have been this confritation with the two. Anywayz, after the dinner, Prince sent MJ a thank you gift, inside the box was flowers everywhere like on the purple rain cover and a cassette tape with a backwards message on it like in the movie. I thought this was interresting enough to share with you alll ... and i'm not making all this stuff up .

back in 84 right before the Jacksons were all going on there "Victory Tour they got a Video Tape of the Film "Purple Rain" too view.that is ShowBiz Perks huh?

This whole conversation makes me wanna stab people!

I heard that Michael attended a special screening of 'Purple Rain' before it came out.This screening was only for Hollywood insiders and record execs.Before seeing the movie,Michael was hearing that it would make Prince a superstar,and he was a little concerned.But,after seeing the film,Michael was ecstatic because he didn't think Prince could act.


Anybody ever heard this rumor?

Yea..back in 1985 MJ made a surprise visit to Atlanta and stopped by AM radio R&B station WAOK(1380)and gave an interview. He said on teh interviw at the station that Purple Rain was an exciting film. He then said that Prince looks like a ram.
