Personal opinion: 3121 and Planet Earth were very good, Lotusflower missed that mark by a small margin, perhaps it's time for a really good album this year.

I wish he'd do something totally off the wall that somepeople will absolutely hate but others will love.

you are all going to hate me for this; I really want him to do a kids album. he could cover Sly's Everyday People and Stand. I am sure he has others he might like to do. On the cover Prince would be smiling. Just one of these mind you. It would get alot of publicity because it would throw everyone off and every comic would be talking about it which is good for sales. I know there will be alot of eek shake falloff going on.

He'll release an album in October, with an insert housing a special 17-digit code to access his new $98 website, www.FuckinUDry.com. 1 in 1000 codes will access "special features" on the site, which will basically be the videos he pulled from YouTube (quality intact), plus a 128k mp3 of "Push It Up" from a bootlegged audience recording copy of the show.

By November, 90% of buyers will forget the album, yet the Org will be flowing with "What is your favorite order of tracks?". By December, he'll have forgotten the website, but not before he posts a final "Satan Claus" message on it for the Holy Days.

By this time next year, someone will be asking, "What are your hopes for 2011 and Prince?" Then someone like me will pop up and post a similar reply.

...falloff

Don't know if this is 100% accurate or how recent but according to someone from the princefams site, prince is planning to work on a project with singer ana moura..here's the info

Fado, Portuguese music style per excellence, takes on new momentum in the strong and emotional voice of Ana Moura, whose work is admired by American artist Prince, with whom she is preparing a project combining respect to the roots and a vision of modernity.

The British Rolling Stones, with whom she got to perform “No Expectations” at a concert in Lisbon, and the American singer Prince, with whom she is preparing a project, have worked with the Portuguese singer and have surrendered to her charisma.

“Prince likes my work and my music. He showed interest in doing something. I am very happy for that”, Moura modestly admits, and reveals that “the Prince of Minneapolis” has already played one of her works on piano.

If I may, Sdldawn, I'd like to expand on that and add that Prince might want to take up a part time job in a warehouse that stocks anything other than music.
Maybe even go skydiving or moutain climbing or skiing. Perhaps helicopter lessons would be in order.
I'd like to see him push his mortal limitations.

Then, he can make a record.

Well her record will sell on the Atlantic coast, especially Massachusetts and Rhodes Island but I don't think much further than that. The man has made his money, maybe he just wants to expose the public to other acts.

Of course when the act are of questionable talent it makes you wonder why. I have said it before and I will say it again, Prince uses his recording studio as a way to pick up women. Ana is a brunette born in 1980. Just saying, speculation only.

The critics do say she is talented in her own right and has achieved a bit of noteriety on her own. Maybe there is hope.

Except 1 or 2 songs, I love Planet Earth. And Lotus is nowhere near one of his greatest albums, not by any stretch. He stopped making great albums about 10+ years ago. Nowadays, they're good, okay, trash, or decent, but great? Nope, not even close.

^Something like that would be very interesting and I have to admit I think Bria has a good voice to do background for that kind of thing. I think her singing voice was a nice choice for Song of Heart. As for Prince and 2010...I'd like to see him get married.

I would like him to stop being a prat and remaster all the albums from 78-90 for fucks sake. He considers his songs his "children" so why not give them the new lease of life they deserve?

AND imagine all those royalties Prince! We all know how much you love the $$$$$

i'm 100% ok with your point of view, Prince is not able anymore to make a surprising/outstanding ALBUM since a long time now, i really don't care about NEW STUFF, all i want it's Remasters+Bonus from his WB Back catalogue, this is my only hope for the years to come!

You totally hit the mark on this. LMAO
I've been a Fan for too long. I use to stand out in front of the record store and wait for it to open so I can be the first one in to buy his new album. I did that for years. Now...I just pre-order online. Remember the day that he would let other artists sing the songs he wrote for them (or a song he lost interest in)? Now this parade of unknowns and barely talented singers is just frustrating. If I wanted to listen to them sing I would go to the obscure section of used cd's in some no name record store. Remember when his songs were an escape from the politics and religion and were singing out about finding a "new breed"? Now not only do I have to listen the the political and religious crap on tv...now I can't even go to my favorite artist and escape the sad, depressing and the hostile things in life. Stop being a talent scout / agent and release your own stuff. It would be the smartest thing that Prince could do is to release some of the shelved catalog. Since he seems to have run out of desire, inspiration and lyrical genius he once had.

If it's all about making money to him...then give your fans what they want!!
If it's new material and styles that he's voyaging for then maybe he should aim to exceed the level of success of his prior work.

Just a thought from a frustrated fan.

lol
