I like it for what it is and wouldn't want it changed. And the bass part is one of my favorite elements of the song. All the components play to the themes of connecting "Joint to Joint." Right on. I thought we liked Prince for stretching out. This song is fun, intense, and among the last of his tunes that was also pretty sick. Every now and then

I'm one of the people who like every second of this one (and I'm usually anti whatever rapper Prince uses in a song). It took me a few listens to get into everything beyond the first section. But once I gaev it a chance, I've loved it every since.

Ok then it's complete shit. Honestly, I really don't see how people can like that song, but hey like I said different strokes, right? Someone said I was a cynic because I don't care for the song. Funny how that information is gathered through an opinion of a rather bland song.

Funny how that information is gathered through an opinion of a rather bland song. LOL... that may have been me, lark. If it was, I meant that in terms of the lyrics of it, sort of a story of reflection, realization, and redemption, it's kinda hard to DISlike unless the Christianity of it and Prince's journey toward it just kind of turns you off in general. I can definitely see where some would call it bland; I just think the lyric outweighs the music in this case. And especially since the artist (no pun intended) is known to have undergone a spiritual experience himself, I'd say it's probably a song very close to his heart. In that case it should be a song most fans can respect, or at the very least, not one to toss away as 'complete shit' out of hand, lol. ********************************************

I always liked this song, but when I heard Poet 99's spoken word(not a rap folks)..I was impressed. She used that on a Dream Warriors song earlier,I was surprised he knew of her.Savion's Glover's tap was from left field and equally impressive."you don't love me,you're a faker..you just want me for my acres"

I agree for sure that it could have been potentially one of his strongest tracks of the 90s had he trimmed it into a focused, 4 1/2 minute tune.. it would have been hot. The version on the album sounds like it should be the 12" mix. * * *
