Wasted Kisses!

Hi Everyone!

Ok, Wasted Kisses. Now I Love This One. Growing up as a Prince Fan, I have always enjoyed the man's more melodic pop tunes than anything in his ouevre...
I really think he can write an eclectic and original pop song almost better than anyone when he feels like it. When You Were Mine, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, (His Zenith) in this regard, Beret, Life Can Be So Nice,If I Was Your Girlfriend, Starfish and Coffee, All My Dreams, Alphabet Street, Shy, The Glorious Dolphin etc etc.. biggrin

Wasted Kisses for me, after listening to a mostly dissapointing record was a boon of hope. A mostly electronic tune, that was beautifully affecting,
exciting and incredibly fucking sad at the same time.. sad

Plus that amazing keyboard led bridge before the main chorus is almost divinity! biggrin

What do you guys think? hmm

You should hear it live.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Well hidden at the end of Newpower Soul as if he didn't have confidence in it, or perhaps the other way around, maybe he wanted people to be positively surprised. Regardless, it's amazing! Easily one of his best songs from the 90s.

Brilliant? No not really. It just stands out because its surrounded by a sea of mediocrity ala New Power Soul. Just sayin'..

Yeah. This was definitely my favorite track off on New Power Soul. I was putting together a play list of tracks that I imagined would be on a modern version of The Hits/The B-Sides, taking from everything that was released after that album. I was pleased to have this hidden track and Pretty Man, to number among "The B-Sides" since there aren't really any B-sides any more.

It is Divinity when you hear some of P's bootlegs for the first time--it is like after 15 years--falling in love again with a musical artist that you never heard before! I am falling in LUV again with the music, the sound, etc. All I can say is P!--I don't worship U but I sure hear the Voice of Life thru U!

What do you guys think? hmm

I've always thought that New Power Soul was a decent record at least.

I have heard So much about what this song is really about..
if you listen to it its very erotic and kidna spooky sounding..
but some say it has to do with their baby dying.
Wouldn't ya love to be able to sit down with P and chat and ask him
what alot of the songs he wrote really meant to him when he
penned them.....
I think that would be totally cool.....

and by the way.. what does he say after the line
"Small dark room, thats where I let you smother.. "
the line after that?? I can never figure it out???
Orgers?????
