He really didn't need SWSAT and GB together. One would suffice and that one at least to me is SWSAT. It also seems like a carbon copy of "The Ladder" which I'm also no fan of. Why didn't he just combine them "Everybody wants to find graffiti ladder"? It's just around the corner...

Each to their own. One of the great things about his music is there is something for everybody.
I love this song and the album but not too keen on Sign'O'The Times, sounds a bit rough, I play that album the least.

This song could be much better in a different arrangement...all the instruments playing the melody at once just is irksome. It's probably my least favorite song on the album...

It's a real stinker in my opinion. One of the few Prince songs that doesn't get played at all at my place. He tries to make these big anthem songs that make out the title of the project and they often tend to be over-sugary, cheesy, poppy tearjerkers (Gold is far better in a less "heroic" arrangement, GB is really awfull but Emancipation was OK. I'm glad the later albums had better "theme" songs; musicology; 3121, Lotusflower, Rainbow Children...
