What are the top myths about Prince would you say? There have been so many outrageous things said and written about him and some maybe true but many I am sure are not.

That he's a perfectionist.

Well here are some I have read smile

when he was a teenager he decorated his room with mirrors and rabbit fur
he proposed to Susannah in a club in Beveley Hills called Tramps
he bought Sheena Easton a $1.4 m lovenest in Paris
the $12,000 Easter hunt he did for his entourage while in the UK in a country mansion
he once flew a woman from USA to UK to do his ironing
he travels with 2 massive trunks full of cometics and skin lotions
he only uses underwear once

I am sure most of these are myths or stories made up to sell tabloids

I can actually believe that one lol

I think they added a great deal to particular songs.

I do believe they opened up his ideas on basic things like chords. I can hear, and understand, when Wendy (on the 20th anniversary DVD of Purple Rain) talked about his basic B flat chord opening up "Purple Rain", but she added a 6th or a 9th to it and it became a more lush chord. As a musician I get that. And it shows in the album cut. We can hear a deeper sense of the music itself.

It's more interesting than something more basic like the A-G-F#/D progression in "Raspberry Beret", but yet that song has strings on it, which might have been a W&L influence (wasn't it W&L or Lisa or composed and arranged the strings at the end of "Purple Rain"?). It was also Lisa's composition that opens up "The Ladder", yet there's no W&L in stuff like "Tambourine" or "Temptation".

You can still hear their influence on "Strange Relationship" even though Prince rearranged a lot of their production on it for the album. So there are nuggets here and there where you can hear more W&L than others.

But that's what makes those albums great. Some is pure Prince, some is Prince and Clare Fisher, some are Prince and W&L. So the lack of W&L on songs is as important as them being on a song. It's exactly what Prince was always about back then....diversity.

Everything you said were well-taken points, but there are some people who believe Prince would have never been famous WITHOUT them.

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

Well that's ignorant of them then. He was famous before their team efforts during PR, ATWIAD, Parade, and SOTT. I think W&L just opened it up a bit. He had great success well after W&L being around, especially the mid 90's when NOTHING sounded like it had W&L influence or input.

Are you joking,Prince is not Gay because he wears feminine clothes. Some people
wear difference clothes and act a certain way. That's doesn't mean that he's Gay.
Some Men might want Prince to be Gay but he's not.
