Listening to this version of the song, I am wondering if this was the first version recorded and what made P decide to change it. Don't get me wrong, the version that ended up on 1999 is amazing but this version is really good as well. It amazes me to hear how his brain works at times, the alternate version is definitely more accessible whereas the released version is "cold".

Anyway just wondered what you guys thought of each version and/or which one you prefer.

I like both, or better yet, I like ALL versions of that song. The version you´re talking about was created a year after the album version, not earlier.
