Something By Trent Reznor would be cool cool

I almost think he'd take "The Hand That Feeds" and change it into a fan-slam song.

I could totally hear him doing those Anita Baker tunes too. They seem to sing in the same register. Maybe someday he'll get us off by doing them!

Prince has done a number of covers with mixed results. I absolutely love his version of Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You" but could do without covers like "La, La, La Means I Love You."

What songs by other artists would you love to hear Prince's version of?

I think he could do an absolutely smashing version of Tom Waits' "Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis." I'd kill to hear that.

Boz Scaggs "Lowdown" very funky song!!!!! lol

I've always thought that "Breaking Glass" by David Bowie would be gold in the hands of Prince. It already has that funky thing going on, but "funky" as in "Englishman does funk".

Kelis, has a song on her last album with Andre 3000 I believe it is called "Millionaire" it is a song that could easily fit of the 1999 album and would be a great song for Prince and Vanity to sing together. This song has a strong "Something in the water (does not compute)" vibe to it.

Translated into English, of course, I can't see (hear) Prince singing a full song in French, haha.

NPGman, I don't know if you have heard this song by Kelis and Andre 3000, but if you have you would understand why I said that Vanity could"ve have easily sung this song with Prince...check out the song it's shows how Prince has influenced Andre 3 stacks production and vocal delivery...the vibe in the song is incredible!

cool, I'll definitely check it out!! I love Andre3000's approach to creating his music. I just wish he would cut loose and not TRY to be edgey. The biggest example of what I'm talking about is Lenny. If he would stretch out and explore all avenues of music without trying to offend his "rock" fans, he would blow the doors off the joint. So frustrating to anticipate Lenny bring something wild and FONKY, and getting the same acid rock flavor. Thanks for heads up I'll let u know. Peace

I use to love me some Wa Wa Nee (Aussie band from late 80's). Paul Gray-lead singer-was a massive Prince fan. There are a few songs with a definite Prince vibe- Can't Control Myself, Giving Everything (which I'm convinced has a similar rhythm and bass as Dance 4 Me) and a b-side called Rubber Cookie. There are more but there names escape me. Prince could take their songs to a different level.

There is another Aussie band from the late 80's, early 90's called Skunkhour. Again the lead singer Aya Larkin was a huge Prince fan. They were an early Aussie hip-hop band but they came out with one of the funkiest R&B songs I've heard and sounds like something Prince would have done especially back in that era. It is called Bootyful. I can't find a link to it on youtube but I'm sure some of you will be able to find it somewhere. Definitely worth chasing down. Musically and lyrically very Prince.I do have an mp3 of it.
