Most listened to album

Ok, which album recieved the most time in your cd player the first year you bought it. Then which song on that album got the most play.

Mine would be The Gold Experience album. That cd got played to death! Love it from beginning to end!
The song on the album that got the most plays was Endorphine Machine. Flawless song!!! I still rock that song today!

Keep in mind, this isnt total time, or else Im sure eveyones answer would be Purple rain. Which got the most play Just in the first year you bought it.

Purple Rain, every day after school.

The Gold Experience was my Dinner Making Music. I'd come home, put that CD on, and make dinner. Even today, I put it on a times for that reason, just to have it to listen to while I make food.

Only "Shy" is the song I skipped. Still do.

I have to admit: Purple Rain, I would listen to it even at school!

My school mates thought I was weird listening to such a "freak"...
Favourite track: Darling Nikki, I would sing it out loud while walking to school. Those were the Walkman days!

Nobody spoke English so nobody understood, haha.
I spoke English but I had no idea what he was talking about... yeah I was young and innocent!

innocent

Over the years, my most listened to album is Parade (love it!), favourite song: Sometimes it Snows in April (tied with Condition of the Heart - ATWIAD)

probably parade or sign overall.

different periods in my life have seen other albums get heavy rotation for a period of time. lovesexy got a lot of play for a while, as did gold and emancipation.

but overall, parade and signs get the most play from me.

Probably 1999. I remember playing that album over and over and over again while studying. I think I played it more than PR, Sign, ATWIAD, or TGE.

In college, I also played prince a lot.

It's a three way tie between Purple Rain, Musicology, and The Gold Experience. I've definitely listened to those three albums on repeat for entire days... ridiculous, I know, but true biggrin

Early on I played everything straight through. I think I listened to "Prince," the most when I first got it in 1979. I only owned about 20 records at that time. I played Prince everyday. cool

Adore, I need to listen to that stuff daily. I just love that song and could never get sick of it. None other as a daily need (Some days I may go without any music) but I think with me, If I don't hear DIRTY MIND every week, someone is going to get injured. That album is like a drug to me.

But didn't start collecting Album "CD's" till 1993? **The hits / B-Sides**

My guess is...
B-Sides - Blackalbum - Come - The Gold Experience

Old stuff like purple rain / 1999, I had to have for my collection

Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic got mad play on the old cd player and stereo. I drove my entire family batshit crazy because I played Undisputed at all hours of the day and night. 1999 was a good year for my lil ol' newbie self. lol Sadly, that was the year I think my dad got tired of Prince. I wore him out with my "discovery" of the Purple One.

For me it’s hard to say. I go through phases when listening to Prince albums. Every time a new Prince record is released I get extremely excited and listen the heck out of it. Trying to soak up every song, lyric, sound, arrangement etc.. Then I go back and listen to a handful of older releases. There is no rhyme or reason. I’ve been doing this since I became a fan in 1981 with Controversy.

Currently I am enjoying LotusFlow3r and MPLSound as well as heavy rotations from Emancipation, New Power Soul, Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, Batman, The Gold Experience, Parade and Sign Of The Times, Planet Earth and Musicology.

cool

I remember putting NEWS on repeat a lot, mainly as great background music when driving etc. And I used to play guitar improvs to it!

But this year Lotusflow3r/MPLSound was all I played for 3 months solid! Love it.
