"Compare it to the blue Rave-suit with that haircut... "
Lawd how I hated that 'Rave' period. It was humiliating. He's a grown man, not a ten year old girl no no no!
I have enjoyed most of P's looks in the past, and today he still gets me hot. Looking back, man those rave days were bad.

His look throughout the years definitely fit the eras. His look now fits this era...40+ years old, married and soul searching. I wouldn't Xpect Sheila E. 2 walk out on stage in lingerie...that just ain't cool for a 40+ year old woman.

We all have to grow-up sometime. sexy

That's my point. To me, there is nothing unique and special about that look. I'm not saying he doesn't look mature, classy, and business-like.

Oh, and stop with the high collars! They make him look like he's got a 10 inch long neck.

disbelief

That's the whole point of the collars. He's trying to make himself look tall. wink

I remember that interview. The reporter didn't say it felt "cheap," he said there wasn't anything special about it, like it felt just like any other fabric, not some fancy imported fabric.

From Icon
"Do you ever get tired of being so flamboyant all the time? Dont you ever want to wear a T-shirt and jeans?"-at which point he reared his head back, eyes wide in mock indignation, as if to say, How ridiculous! Dont you know who I am? Ful of macho bravado, he thrust the cuff off of his maroon Prince suit toward me and said "Feel that! If you could wear that every day wouldn't you?"

I felt the cuff. It wasn't a rare and special feeling. It felt manmade."What is it?" I asked.

Immediately his entire demeanor switched. He went from larger-than-life to hushed and humble. "Oh, I don't know," he answerd quietly, dismissively, feigning ignorance of the fabric of his fabulous garment.

He always has a sharpeness to his dapperness..thats why I said "with a dash of flash"..I didnt say he should-and-looks good in a Brookes Bros suit lol.

I have yet to see a business man wear a suit that crisscrosses in the front & buttons in the back - that pinstripe suit is SWEET, the high collars are lovely & it all fits w/ the mode he's in now. I like it... nod

The post 1999 and PR look got embarassing at times save for Parade, SOTT and a few others. Thank god he decided to come with it and dress semi-normal but with that dash of flash still. Those drapes and Jesus robes he would wear and everything..man. Yuck. It was always a "what did his hair look like" "what did he have on " thing and most were disappointing and embarassing. But when he was "on" he was "on" like nobodys' business. Lately he has been on. I doubt that you will se him go back to the flash silly look..he is on a different plane-level now. Its a music/ respectful thing right now. It would be hard and/or silly to go back to outrageousness just for outrageousnesses sake. Plus this new feel gives more respect to the music and not the image which was NEEDED so much! I almost got tore a new asshole when I suggested that he should start dressing dapper instead of that Blue rave suit back when that was about to be released (" that out there look is what Prince is about! shut up!"). Wrong!

lol and Co-Sign. "drapes" lollol

that bamma assed Cloud Suit from '85, those ugly green and black striped pajamas from '93, that shiny electric blue
jump suit from the Rave 2000 dvd, all of those were major glamour don't moments. And some of the Versace crap was ugly too, like that shiny gold disco shirt.

I have always liked Prince's hair when it was big and "poofy"...longer and fuller!

Yep ... i love it when it matches his pre-symbol personality 2 ... now thats funky consistency lol wink

Seriously ... i think it says wonders about a person who is not afraid 2 xplore the capabilities of personal style ... damn he changes & buffs his hair just as much as he revises his music yes

So i think he was bound 2 b in a suave & debonair state, we r what we create! Hell we know he has grown... without the flashy xterior its easier 2 concentrate on the music ... right?!

Hmm... little does he know we all r just staring at his booty though... as per usual horny lick

wink

I'd like to read it. I guess maybe that one excerpt was out of context...you'd sure as hell never get me to interview Prince. I don't know if that guy Jesus himself would have the patience for such a thing.

Fortunately Prince has grown up and out of certain things, which includes some wack-ass clothing. Unfortunately it seems some of his fans haven't.

I hate that damn picture with the bright red suit and the silly ass this is for a photo shoot pose. I bet you even he cringes at some of the stuff he used to wear.

lol ...but its true..can you imagine having to show your grandkids etc that pic later in life. Instead of "grampa, what did you do in the war" it would be "Um grampy--were u flamboyantly gay before?"

not that theres anything wrong with being flamboyantly gay..if thats your thing then flaunt it.Im jus sayin'.
