He won't do it. Too many people to share the spotlight with. He might donate, but he won't perform.

Instead of talking about what Prince is doing! Maybe you should get a second job and send all the money to haiti. Stop wondering what Prince is doing and do your part. Also I think putting on a show is the last thing the people of haiti need. They need food water and protection not a bunch of fakers tryin to pretend they care just so they can feel better about who and what they are. Do you think the people of haiti are going to be watching the show?? The answer is no they are 2 busy trying to stay alive. Just say a prayer write a couple of checks and enjoy the show because they are preforming for you.

Yeah, how dare you talk about or ask others opinions about what Prince is doing on a Prince fan web site.
Maybe you should stop being so judgmental about someone you know nothing about. Do you know how much the OP has donated? Do you know how many jobs the OP already has? Why are you going off on someone that was simply asking a harmless question?
Maybe you should stop clicking on threads that bring up questions you have no interest in and take your "preaching on a soap box" ass to Haiti so you can do everything that you reprimand others for not doing.
Now back to our show...
No I doubt P will take part in any public shows, but I would imagine that he will, as he has done in the past, donate without wanting to draw attention to himself.

I don't think the OP was being harmless with statements like "is he going to stand up" and "don't let the way he is". No I don't know what the OP has done just like he doesn't know what Prince has done. I was just saying that instead of worrying about Prince do your part. Also you have no idea what I have done or not done. Maybe people should be more focused on Haiti than what Prince is doing or not doing.

Mayrain sorry to have ruined your day....

I imagine that he would show...Im posotive that he would donate to the cause through means of not getting attention and to an organization he approved of and I dont even care about that, but among all the caos and the horrible things going on for those people of Haiti my prayers, thoughts, and donations go out to these people...maybe there is a country that would be so quick to our aid if we were to have such a catastrophy here, Anyways I just think it would be nice if Prince was thrown into the colorful mix of artists to help this Friday to raise millions of dollors needed for this country for them to remain, sustain, and perserve there culture and way of life.

I don't think it's for us to say what prince should or shouldnt do. Maybe instead of making requests to prince we should take that effort and donate what we can, or request the poperatzi (spelling?) to give the money they make taking princes' picture, or even go in general discussion and request that any orger with the money give. neutral

people ought to consider that many celebrities, prince included, donate in private and don't need all the fanfare, telethons, commercials and concerts to raise funds. In fact, I have more respect for people like Prince who write the check and keep their names out of it. Who needs to know what charities you are donating to? Alot of times the celebs who are the most vocal aren't even paying with their own money. They devote their time while others spend the dime. Best believe princey doing something. My guess (only a guess) is that he has donated through the JWs because I know they have missionaries in Haiti and have sent aid workers. there are 16,000 JWs in haiti. Or maybe were. sad

How do you know he hasn't participated in his own way? Is it really necessary for him to perform in order to show he cares what happened to the Haitians? I don't think a public announcement needs to be in order if he chose to make a donation. No disrespect, but it makes me wonder if your post was in concern for the Haitians or just a way to see Prince perform somewhere.

Actually you can do something to help, if you're really concerned about the Haitians, and I'm sure my Caribbean brothers and sisters would appreciate it. You can donate to any one of the organizations taking in donations for the victims/survivors of Haiti. You can also do a fundraiser for a reputable charity organization to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake as well. Hope the below information helps. Anyway, that's my thoughts.

Here's some agencies you can call and donate to or visit their websites:

American Red Cross, 800-733-2767
CARE, 800-521-2273
Doctors Without Borders, 888-392-0392
Partners in Health, 617-432-5298
UNICEF, 800-367-5437
Yele Haiti, 212-352-0552
Wyclef Jean's grassroots org
Text Yele to 501501 to donate $5 via cellphone

Text to help

For those interesting in helping immediately, simply text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill.

Didn't mean to come on so strong. I apologize for that. Anyway, I know you meant well, and nothing wrong with asking, but it just seems that some folks are using this tragedy to see if Prince will come out and play, not particularly saying you are . This happens everytime a disaster happens. People ask if he's going to do a benefit concert. He did do a single for the Katrina victims and many fans purchased it, and the donations went to the Katrina victims. Who knows, maybe he'll do that again instead of a show. but I'm sure if he decided to do a benefit concert, we'll hear about it and if he doesn't that's okay too. Some celebrities prefer to just do private donations. Other artists/musicians are grouping together to do concerts, so who knows, he may show up at one of them. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think it would be great if Prince would organize his own charity concert with the members of The Time, Revolution, NPG .... + some other quests

I know that besides charity this would also be considered as publicity, but hey - for a good cause - why not? And with a good cause behind it it could be a chance to reunite performers who have not seen any reasons to do that for a long time.

Is it really a surprise that Prince will not show up to an event like this? It's just not his thing. If he donates, it will be in private.

Damn good point.

Most of Prince's donations R unknown, because he doesn't publicize them. Like Sinatra, many of them R anonymous... more effective, more class.

Some of us can only afford to pray for everyone. God Bless Everyone.
I don't know how flights to Haiti work, I was thinking about President Obama making a statement to all of the Hospitals, to send what supplies and medicine they can. I guess even if that happened, there isn't necessarily enough medical staff.

When it comes to any country that is suffering, the money has to go to the ground floor first...Sewage and Fresh water. These countries don't even have the trucks for the construction they need.

They need to start shipping trucks over there. The whole thing is overwhelming, but the situation will heal. I'm sorry for the lives lost, as well as the grieving and injured.

No I doubt P will take part in any public shows, but I would imagine that he will, as he has done in the past, donate without wanting to draw attention to himself.

lol

Got a message from Madonna confirming her performance at the "Hope for Hait Now" telethon...still no Prince.....
The energy in this field's been known to flicker lights, aight

Asong with no name, acapella moans and a bridge of silence

Undeterred nevertheless a masterpiece on butterscotch thighs

Turn off the lights, turn off the lights

It's time for Mr Go
