Two covers for the Gold Experience Back in 1995, "Q" magazine had a interveiw with Prince about the release of the Gold Experience. Prince handed a copy to the reporter and he descibed the cover as having a woman painted gold lying on a bed. Does any one have anymore info on this? I will add the peice from the interview later for more detail.

The version that David Letterman held up when Prince played Dolphin on his show was all glittery (This was back when Prince was saying the album would never be released).

I have a friend who has one of these. It was a prototype, and all the pages were printed on a foil paper. It was really cool but very fragile. I'm not sure where he got it but I know he paid a lot for it.

I hate the cover it has now. It's just horrible. Looks like
it was thrown together in two minutes. Especially the font on the front cover is a nightmare. Yikes. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

'graffiti bridge', 'chaos and disorder', 'the vault..old friends 4 sale', 'the truth', 'exodus', 'kamasutra', 'newpower soul', 'the gold experience' and 'one night alone'. nobody at paisley park seems to know how to work with adobe..!! don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine

Well maybe they do know how to work with it, but they sure as hell haven't got any taste. Beyond music that is. Just look at all those dogs of album covers he's got. Brrr. Why can't he ever release an album with a normal nice glossy photo on the front and an average typefont on the back? I guess they tried with One Nite Alone Live. And it's nice, except they chose that godawfull mafioso picture of him to go on the cover. The inside pic of him in the purple light with habibi would have been 100 times better. Same thing with the Aftershow disc. Hell, that isn't even a cover. That's like, thrown together. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Uptown magazine had a picture of the orignal cover for The Gold Experiencealbum{during an examination article of the album} back in 95' or 96'. I liked the original one better.

Yeah, I saw an original copy of the Gold Experience CD about a year or so before it came out. It had the same picture as the released version but it was printed on gold paper, and the symbol was foil blocked/embossed (I think the cd tray was gold plastic too).
The only real differences between it and the released one were that Days Of Wild was included (after We March), and P Control was called Pussy Control. The whole booklet was printed on gold paper, and it didn't include the Jim Walsh bit (but it did include the lyrics to Pussy Control).
