Kevin Smith Interview: a week with Prince

I just recently watched the Kevin Smith interview about his week with Prince filming a documentary. I was really surprised to hear about his take on Prince's overall oddness I guess you could say. But what really bothered me was the fact that after pretty much demanding that Kevin Smith make this documentary and had him stay there for a week and do nothing other than sit in as a discussion host on topics Kevin Smith could care less about, He never said Thank You.

I know all about his reputation for being demanding and a fire on a whim reputation, But what I find most disappointing is that there was no manners whatso ever, not even a Thank you.

Do you think if for any reason he didn;t say "thank you" to you after doing something for him that put you out, you'd seriously rethink being a fan or would you be able to say no to a request from Prince?

Totally out of order. I really didn't want to believe this when I first heard it but knowing Prince it is probably true.

I'm sure there are some people on here who would happily allow Prince to set fire to their loved ones whilst forcibly fornicating their pets and still believe he could do no wrong but I definitely don't fit into that bracket anymore.

I love the guy's music but the bloke seems to be either a complete arsehole or just totally detached from reality. I would probably suggest that there is a little of each in Prince's personality to be honest.

That interview was funny as hell... biggrin he's a good story teller; Kevin Smith.

And to answer your question ... I don't even wanna meet Prince...
Wasn't it Prince to say 'never meet your Heroes/Idols, they always put you off? or something like that... I think he's right...

There are always some things you don't like or appreciate... But Prince was a dick-head (if it's true, and it probably is)

Happy 2010!

Richard.

Hopefully he's evolved...But if not...

Of course I'd remain Prince's fan if I did something for him and he didn't say thank you. The lack of common courtesy is his problem. Besides, his being a jerk has nothing to do with the body of work that he's created (well, technically it does, but anywho...).Some of the most brilliant artists are insufferable.

Bottom line is, Prince and I aren't friends, so he's not on the list of people that I feel I'd need to really be concerned with and/or take into my psyche what he does or doesn't do.

^ seriously!!! Not this stupid subject again

Kevin Smith is a douchbag and a great story teller as long as it's told from his perspective. Also, Kevins the guy who was the confused one and was gonna just leave and not say anything so obviously he's out of order and didn't deserve any type of thanks! Prince ain't no idiot...he quickly learned how much of a douche Smith really is

What interview are you talking about? There is the speaking performance he did at some college on DVD but don't remember him covering this in an interview.

That's what I was watching. Sorry, interview may be the wrong word but that was what I was referring to.
