Feeling like a newbie: hearing hidden classics for the first time!

Just geard the original vers. of Tick Tick Bang - always wondered what this sounded like. It certainly kicks ____ all over the GB re-make.

And now listening to soul psychedelicide for the first time: never really wanted to hear this, thinking it could never live up to the expectations created by JIR and that it should really just remain an intangible, unattainable imaginary tune...
I was wrong! lol woot!

uh-oh the GB chorus just kicked in - I take back the above...

Yeah, I've been doing that myself lately. There's still a few songs I'm discovering. It's so cool. Most of it lives up to the hype, but not all. You just feel kinda stupid wanting to talk about something people have been hip to for twenty years or so. smile

If I came back as a dolphin
Would U listen 2 me then?
Would U let me be your friend?
Would U let me in?
U can cut off all my fins
But 2 your ways I will not bend
I'll die before I let U tell me how 2 swim
And I'll come back again as a dolphin

Yeah. I think Xpertluva got what I mean tho - I've bought all the official releases when they came out since 1984, but there's unreleased stuff that I'm only just hearing.
E.g. Moonbeam levels which I herad last night 4 the 1st time, and the Prince/App. 6 version of Manic Monday...

Yeah, that's exactly how it is for me. I've been a fan since I can remember but I haven't gotten around to all of the boots...yet! biggrin Moonbeam Levels was one of those that I wasn't too carzy about considering everything I had heard about it. But "All My Dreams" blew me away when I finally heard it a few months ago.

Yep, same here... lol

I've also found it interesting to find ecoes of quite recent work in his oldest material. I heard an instrumental from '76 that sounds a lot like the backtrack to Reflections and there was another track that sounded like the basis for I Hate U.

Funny thing about hearing ML just now is that I heard a strange unholy evolution:

Moonbeam Levels ---> 3 Chains of Gold -----> Purple and Gold!!!!
