As a proud legal card carrying "patient" in the greater Los Angeles I go to different "dispensaries" to purchase my medicine.

At a fine hash bar/dispensary on Venice Beach they are offering a strain named "Purple Rain."

To put it in context growers can name anything they want, but this is the first Princely marijuana strain I've seen; Purple is a very popular name for certain types of marijuana.

I asked the salesperson if Prince endorsed it. She laughed "no."

BTW, other names for marijuana strains include: Skywalker (the force is with it), Green Crack, Jack Herer (named for an advocate) the specialty "Woody Harrelson Kush," Blue Dream, Cotton Candy Kush, etc. etc.

I'm sure Prince's watchdogs will soon be hitting the clubs to put a cease and desist to the name.

I'm sure the Artist would not approve.

Yeah, we all have medical marijuana cards out here on the west coast, and we can name our weed whatever we want! I highly doubt Prince would go after a medical dispensary, but knowing Prince u never know, they better change it 2 Purple Reign!
