This song has really grown on me in the last year or so. When I first heard it, I assumed "blue" referred to bluesy, whether in music or feelings. But upon closer listen, it makes more sense in the blue movie, blue language (dirty) sense of the word. We all know how P loves to play with words. Or it could be that he was telling us about his latest kink, which had something to do with painting his chicks the color of Smurfs.

It makes me smile because it reminds me of so much of the good R&B of those years. Which is funny, because Prince rarely sounded much like the other popular music of the time.
