Will Prince ever release remastered special edition cd's ? Cd sales are down , but when it comes to classic albums remastered and repackaged as special edtion 2 disc sets with concert dvd's the cd sells. U2 , Madonna and Michael Jackson have all had success with this type of product. The Madonna and Michael remastered hits are just the record companies trying to make another buck off of their artsist , but the past U2 remastered have been by the band made for the fans. Last year U2 released a Joshua Tree remastered two disc set including b-sides , remixes and live versions along with a rare concert dvd from that album. You could tell this was U2's way of thanking their fans for sticking with them through the years and giving the fans a few hidden jems. Prince needs to do the same and give his fans these same little jems. Even though Prince may not like it most fans already own all of the b-sides , live and outtakes from each album , but would love to own a "real" remastered version of those songs and to get a concert dvd from that time period would be just crazy. I think Prince should start with 1999 , Purple Rain and Sign'O' the Times. Prince stop waiting for Warner Brothers to call you and say okay we will hand over the master recordings.Work out a deal and move on. Everyone knows this is the reason nothing like this has happened. Prince it's time to open the Vault and give the fans what they want! People want to school new generations on Prince and show them why Prince is the best. Welcome 2 the Dawn ! | |

Great topic. Maybe a remastered cd\dvd might be the first step of Prince reuniting with Warners. Lifes too short....set aside the differences...and leave a long lasting legacy.... | |
