The thread starter simply stated that it looked like Prince would be working on New Year's Eve.

They didn't claim that he would be celebrating the occasion himself.

But, as mentioned below elsewhere, if he is performing, he obviously has no qualms about performing on occasions where people do celebrate in that way.
