Why is Alan Carr dressed as Prince..?

Just saw an advert for Alan Carr: Chatty Man New Year's Special Tuesday 29 December 10:20pm - 11:30pm Channel 4 and Alan is dressed as Prince al a Purple Rain era and the song Let's Go Crazy is being played in the background..

Has anyone else seen it??

Does anyone know why the Prince reference..?
