Prince and Mojo were buddies in the 80's. I bet Prince sent him some rare shit for him to listen to before it ever got out. Just a hunch. "

Mojo's show was the first time I'd ever heard Bob George. He only played a couple of edited minutes of it tho... Keep your headphones on.

In fact, it was the first time I heard the "MAY DAY!" scream from the 12" of "Little Red Corvette". I'd never heard that before, but it was in this mix. Man, I wish I could find that megamix. It was about 10 minutes long I think. I have been looking for a copy of that forever. It originally aired on a Sunday night show on FM 98 called "Radioscope". I lost my copy years and years ago. I've never heard it since then, and that was 1987 or 1988. I had a rough tape of it for ages, but I never had the sense back then to save stuff. Man, the shit I've lost over the years.

Good question. Is anyone else having that problem? Possibly fixed now. Keep your headphones on.

Good question. Is anyone else having that problem? Possibly fixed now. I had a couple of cut outs for buffering, but it has been steady for quite a while now. If you're using iTunes, try VLC Player. It's very light weight, and I get less issues like that with it. I use it a lot when I listen to Wendy and Lisa's show on Luxuriamusic.com.

Yeah, VLC is excellent. The swiss army knife of media players. Keep your headphones on.

So where was that "Erotic City" mix recorded from, as in radio station? I ask because my Navy buddy/fellow Orger, had it on tape. I assume he recorded it on the radio and he's from Ohio. Cleveland or Columbus I think. Just wondered.

Radioscope was a syndicated 30 minute "Black Music News, etc" show. In Detroit it aired on Sunday nights on WJLB, your friend in Ohio must have picked it up on an Ohio affliate. They only ever aired that mix twice, as a special, once in '85 and once in late '86. I remember the beginning minutes of it well, Automatic, and then some of the 1st verse of Head, but missing the middle lines. Like, it went "... and the things you said, and you said 'I'm just a virgin' and I'm..." Great edit. Then it went into Party Up. Loved the Erotic City loop all through it.

This is the one I have. Or is this the Erotic city mix your talking about? I'm talking about the Erotic City mix. Does the one you have, use the intro to Erotic city, looped under the entire length of the mix? [Edited 12/18/09 20:24pm] Keep your headphones on.

Nope, these are just clips of each song that mix into each other..about 12.17min. Don't know what you played earlier since I didn't hear it. "

The one "Mojo" played at the start of his show is the one that starts with 1999, then a snatch of Party Up, then Head, then Sexy Dancer, 17 days, etc. All layered into each other. Mojo used to play it a lot back in the day, and it begins that 1990 broadcast where he was building up to debuting Thieves in the Temple. Keep your headphones on.

Oh God this song is .... bad. Not bad meaning good. Detroit group called Dreamboy, more ripoff of Prince than even RFTW (who were also from Michigan, but I liked them).
This Dreamboy cut is like a bad SNL version of Prince, LOL! [Edited 12/18/09 20:31pm] Keep your headphones on.

Fuck, this shit is cool to hear again. I listened to this stuff all thru high school with my friends but we rarely taped them figuring Mojo would always be on. Always listened to the Mj vs. Prince vs. Rick James. And I had friends that like each one and the battle was on..... "
