Question about a demo from 1976

I have a question regarding a demo song title from 1976 as I'm trying to organize the files on my computer and get as much correct information as possible. Hopefully some of the hardcore orgers on here can help.

On files from Prince's iVault/1976 there is a song listed as "Loving You" (3:46), possibly recorded at Sound 80 Studios and not to be confused with the home demo "I Spend My Time Loving You".

Please could somebody confirm if this is the correct title for this track? I've looked through my copy of The Vault and this track isn't listed although there are a further 15 titles mentioned from these sessions of which this track could be one of a possible seven of them.

You'll find a list of known Prince song titles here:

http://www.princevault.co..._song_list

You'll see from that list the songs with known titles that have been atrributed a known first recording date of 1976:

Aces
Baby
Diamond Eyes
Don't Forget
Don't Hold Back
Don't You Wanna Ride?
Fantasy
For You
Grand Central
Hey Lover
I Spend My Time Loving You
Jelly Jam (Instrumental)
Lady Pleasure
Leaving For New York
Make It Through The Storm
My Love Is Forever (originally titled Love Is Forever)
Nightingale
Rock Me Lover
Since We've Been Together
Soft And Wet
Surprise
Whenever
Wouldn't You Love To Love me?
You're Such A Fox

There's no Prince song with the title 'Loving You' on the list attributed as a Prince composition.

The DTT site provides transcriptions for some outtake recordings for 1976 (not necessarily Prince compositions though):

http://www.dtt-lyrics.com.../1976.html

Other than the timing of the song, do you have any lyrics for the recording?

This song is on The Work - vol.1 (cd 3). It sounds like some Rolling Stones cover. Some lyrics: "but if we stay together, you got to ?", "In my heart, girl".

I've listened to it again... it's "Hard To Get" from The Rebels sessions in 1979. The creators of the iVault probably just listed it in the wrong folder smile

Thanks for the help and the links... I'll be favouriting them!

You are sometimes just amazing with your knowledge of these sorts of things. Not trying to blow smoke just wanted to say that what you do is kool.

Have you listened to the song? Are you sure it's a totally different composition? And are you sure it's Prince? Sometimes, there's always a stray wandering in.
