Because it was a promotional effort to state that he is back to his MPLS sound roots with Rave and that this album sounds more like "old" Prince than anything else written by .
It was nothing but an attempt to regain attention from the masses and he knew he had better chances by stating the music was produced by someone with a pronounceable name, - even better - "Prince".

Was this the time that thought he wanted to be Prince again? I only just noticed lol!! Dose is the amount of medication you take. Silly. Prince stated on The Today Show with Matt Lauer, when this very question was asked of him, that "Prince" knows how to edit, and cut a song so it's stronger. He said when he changed his name to , he took on a freer attitude in his music, and that he didn't cut and edit songs like he used to. He had the freedom to do whatever. (In reality, I think a lot of stuff on Emancipation backs up that theory quite well; not that it's a bad thing.) He said "Prince" was more "controlled" in a way, and knew when to cut a song off, or when to not go too long here or there. He was trying to get back to that type of songwriting and editing and production with Rave. Seemed to be a deliberate effort to try and gain back a bit of his old audience; not because of the name itself, but rather his purposeful goal in writing pop songs and radio friendly songs to boot. Too bad none of them were singles.

Everyone knows that and Prince are the same guy, right? It's in the FAQs. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Are they both gay or just the one? Did we vote on that? is bi-curious according to recent polls. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
