Is there any photos from this gig?

I have listened to it thousands of times, and often wondered what it looked like.

You can find the Trojan Horse club on line to at least see the venue....

Also, apropos of nothing, did anyone else love the subtitle of "A Nice Piece of Short Ass" on this boot? (Or at least the version of the boot that I had.) Cracked me up every time I looked at it.

The X-Rekords version. That's the silver that I have. I think it's the first CD release of this show.

Here's a video that pans across the club and shows how small it is.

At one moment, when he entered stage in the Jam, he wore nothing more than a pant and a long coat. And boots probably. A very LoveSexy (sort of Dirty Mind) thing, I imagine.

This is what I will do, I have a newspaper article which I keep my boot, I will translate the whole piece from a journalist who witnessed the show.

One moment please...

Oh, my favorite? Let's say this was the first boot I bought and it's in my top 5. I love all tracks but the opening Jam is my favorite. And to me the whole track is the best guitar tune he'd ever done.
What do you mean it's not in the computer?

I will go with 'Still Would Stand All Time'. I think the performance of 'Just My Imagination' was better at the London aftershow with Mica Paris.

Of course it's all good, but to me "Still Would..." isn't the big standout. Amazing song but not always the best performance. At least not compared to "Just My Imagination" -- THE guitar solo for the ages, and DMSR. Opening Jam as well. The Boni stuff is great, too. I can't say I've made it through that version of "Rave" too many times.

Hi y'all,
Thanks for waiting, here's the translation of one (short) article, the photocopy below is a different report from the same show but with a mirrored picutre from '86. But the one I translate here, depicts shortly on the show and specificly on the clothing. It sources from the AD (Algemeen Dagblad), a Dutch newspaper. I cannot get sure whether the journalist was there himself, or that he wrote the story after he spoke with someone who was at the show.

'The black Minneapolis Mozart stays one in his kind. One hundred thousand spectators and three sold-out Rotterdam Kuip Feyenoord football stadium concerts could not stop him.

It's 3 a.m. and exhausting hot. Doors are open but it doesn't bring much fresh air. Tonight is the warmest day of the year. At the bar, the tickling of ice cubes in glasses is being overwhelmed by the music of the house, heavy guitars over a strong beat. Funk meets rock.

Those attend - about 200 - have one thing in common. The didn't know a couple of hours ago that they would spend the night here. When at 5 past 3 the lights suddenly go down, the sound of the ice cubes fall still.

At stage a jam gets shape. From the testing of the drums a latin beat grows, accompanied with synthesizer pieces of jazz rock. Then, a shapeless image straps on his guitar, switches on the amplifier and hits the strings. When the lights glows on, he grins and the audience grins in return. These 200 will a have a story to tell in the future to their grandchildren. Prince chose club Het Paard Van Troje (Tojan Horse) in The Hague fo a nightly jam session.

Close to the stage - at Het Paard everyone stands close to the stage - you can feel the appearance of this fellow that just'd played for a filled football stadium. He wears a high collared black cape which contrasts largely with the subtropical temperature. This cape hangs over his guitar and it's in the way of the quick tempered but controlled right hand that moves swiftly over the strings. When, after some attempts he moves his cape over his shoulder, The Most Wanted Body Of The First World appears to be wearing only a seethrough body and a pair of black knickers. "How many are drunk?" he asks. Only a couple of fingers are raised. Most have decided to witness this night with Prince fully conscious.

Two hours and two short breaks for change of clothes later the tickling sound of the glasses returns under the house music. Grandchildren will hear in time that Prince brought his almost entire band, except for saxophone player Eric Leeds*; that he'd play several own songs (DMSR, Housequake) and others' work (The Temptations' Just My Imagination, what are the odds), but that he'd improvised mostly; that he'd hardly danced and there was no lightshow. That he'd took over the synthesizer (People Without) and en passant played drums for half an hour** while Sheila E, Cat and Boni Boyer sung I'll Take You There (from the Staple Singers). In all, that they'd witnessed Prince at work from very close.'

What botters me is:
* Only missing band member was indeed was Eric Leeds. Did he go on a trip to the Amsterdam Red Light District in order to get the Dutch sound samples he later used in the Dopamine Rush?

** half an hour? By hearing, I would say Prince only played this song for a couple of minutes. By the end of the tune he plays guitar - imo - where he plays this blues tune and commands "Groove y'all!" The RAVE that blends in, surely features Prince back on his guitars.

Nice fact is, that drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk - from the Dutch band Golden Earring - caught and got hold of a towel Sheila E threw in the audience after the show. This was confirmed by Dutch disc jockey Rob Stenders who was there, too.

My favorite boot! The night he played at Het Paard was the same night I saw the Lovesexy concert. And I heard rumors he was doing an aferparty but I could not persuade my fellow concert-goers to drive to The Hague.

My two favorite tunes: DMSR and People Without

taylor dayne is from the grosse freiheit aftershow and the double time gospel part at the end is my favorite part of that one dancing jig. just my imagination from that show also kicks much ass guitar even though the recording is messy as fuck headache and god is alive with his speech at the end spit

lovesexy aftershow bootlegs are my shit mushy

My misfortune was that I was on holiday in Spain with my parents while that summer. BOO HOO HOO. I bought almost every newspaper and magazine that reported on those shows.
