It was all going so well!!

I remember when the Oprah interview came out, it was all going smoothly. I was thinking "oh, finally, Prince comes across as a normal guy! This will silence all the naysayers for good! They'll see how he's just misunderstood, and he's actually a down-to-Earth, likeable guy!"
Then he came out with "There's two people inside of me, and we're not sure which gender the second one is!"
*facepalm*
What are your favourite examples of that random psycho/religo-babble Prince likes to throw out there to stir people up. The human genome quip on Tavis is one of my favourites in recent memory, as is Chemtrails.
Anyone care to contribute their favs?

Not at all! I love the man and, really, I find his odd asides amusing and occasionally, yes, frustrating...
But the reason for this thread is I was hoping people would contribute wild conspiracy theories he had espoused or funny stuff he said to mess with journalists that I might have not been aware of, or forgotten!

I'm not a Prince hater by any stretch of the imagination, but sometimes I think the only response to some of these antics is to laugh. I mean, he really does take being cryptic very seriously.

If you re-read my opening to the thread you'll see I haven't taken a negative tone at all.

I don't believe he said that however, technically speaking based on resposibilities, rule, etc. Washington wasn't the 16th either, well based on when they started using that title. Futhermore, Obama was not the first black...hmmm... ruler... I will say, look to your 2 dollar bill for the first leader of this place called America.

Surely everyone has some quirks ... I am sure Prince does too. It is normal. Just that Prince is a public figure and whatever he says tends to be examined under a microscope.

Chemtrails, I assume you never have taken in Dick Gregory who is very extreme in his speakings of how the master works. If you watched him a couple of years ago doing the State of the Black Union he also made a comment,.... what you putting in my 40 ounce white boy?

These theory's are not too far fetched, not with america's record. There is one thing about babyboy I do admire. He makes you think, which it seems people find hard to do for themselves these days. My favorite is the ..I belive it called "One song". wish someone had it to post ...nice visual. It starts off my him speaking of the "spell" and then goes into the song.

Don't you think that some things he says are deliberately put out there to make people seem stupid, like if they don't know what Chemtrails are, he wants to see if they just stand there going "mm-hmm, yes, that's absolutely right."

Yeah, that "One Song" is something else. But his music has always been replete with that stuff. Are there any examples from interviews that you can think of which come close?

The thing is no one knows how accurate any of this is, it is not like it could be impossible given the history of America. I for one did not know what Chemtrails were until he mentioned it.

oh Nevermind! confused
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I remember the TRL (Why the hell was he there to begin with?) interview with Carson Daily was rather painful to watch. I don't remember the specifics but I recall Prince being asked very simple, grounded questions but giving very cryptic answers.

take a look at Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum....I wonder if Prince watched those - some things seem far fetched - until u unwrap the media/political cloaking that surrounds them.....I think he said it best in 2002 in the acoustic set of Xenophobia Celebration week 'I am the curtain puller' (at the end of Don't Play Me)....he may or may not be correct, but if it does make you think, then that's cool IMHO....which is exactly what 'big brother' is trying to stop!!! They don't want us to question whats going on.....they want us to do exactly what they expect us to do....what we have been taught.....from a very early age...in front of the hellavision, the propaganda they sneak in that we learn at school, to the propaganda we read and see on the news....hell, in the scheme of things who the f cares what tiger woods did - thats between him and his family - but all of a sudden there was a media frenzy and a global world was judging things...shame shame shame! then of course, there's all the haters on the internet LOL!!

only another 3 years and the Mayans will be laughing all the way to the bank!!

better start on that ark!! wink

July 1862...

And here is the the first leader of this place called america, John Hanson a black man.

1781-1782 A.D.??? George Washington was really the 8th President of the United States! George Washington was not the first President of the United States. In fact, the first President of the United States was one John Hanson. The new country was actually formed on March 1, 1781 with the adoption of The Articles of Confederation. This document was actually proposed on June 11, 1776, but not agreed upon by Congress until November 15, 1777. Maryland refused to sign this document until Virginia and New York ceded their western lands (Maryland was afraid that these states would gain too much power in the new government from such large
amounts of land). Once the signing took place in 1781, a President was needed to run the country. John Hanson was chosen unanimously by Congress (which included George Washington). In fact, all the other potential candidates refused to run against him, as he was a major player in the revolution and an extremely influential member of Congress. As the first President, Hanson had quite the shoes to fill. No one had ever been President and the role was poorly defined. His actions in office would set precedent for all future Presidents. He took office just as the Revolutionary War ended. Almost immediately, the troops demanded to be paid. As would be expected after any long war, there were no funds to meet the salaries. As a result, the soldiers threatened to overthrow the new government and put Washington on the throne as a monarch. All the members of Congress ran for their lives, leaving Hanson as the only guy left running the government. He somehow managed to calm the troops down and hold the country together. If he had failed, the government would have fallen almost immediately and everyone would have been bowing to King Washington. In fact, Hanson sent 800 pounds of sterling silver by his brother Samuel Hanson to George Washington to provide the troops with shoes. Hanson, as President, ordered all foreign troops off American soil, as well as the removal of all foreign flags. This was quite the feat, considering the fact that so many European countries had a stake in the United States since the days following Columbus. Hanson established the Great Seal of the United States, which all Presidents have since been required to use on all official documents. President Hanson also established the first Treasury Department, the first Secretary of War, and the first Foreign Affairs Department. Lastly, he declared that the fourth Thursday of every November was to be Thanksgiving Day, which is still true today. The Articles of Confederation only allowed a President to serve a one year term during any three year period, so Hanson actually accomplished quite a bit in such little time. Six other presidents were elected after him - Elias Boudinot (1783), Thomas Mifflin (1784), Richard Henry Lee (1785), Nathan Gorman (1786), Arthur St. Clair (1787), and Cyrus Griffin (1788) - all prior to Washington taking office. So what happened? Why don't we ever hear about the first seven Presidents of the United States? It's quite simple - The Articles of Confederation didn't work well. The individual states had too much power and nothing could be agreed upon. A new doctrine needed to be written - something we know as the Constitution. And that leads us to the end of our story. George Washington was definitely not the first President of the United States. He was the first President of the United States under the Constitution we follow today. And the first seven Presidents are forgotten in history

I think the whole Oprah show was a carcrash. I mean it was already out in the media, and yet they were pretending nothing was wrong. Mayte looked heart-broken. It was creepy and really illustrated what a bubble Prince lived in.

He did say it - on Tavis Smiley.

And those other seven were not presidents of the United States under the US Constitution. They were short-term leaders under the Articles of Confederation.

Thomas Jefferson is on the $2 bill. He was the third president under the US Constitution.

Care to try again?

John Hanson was "the first President of Congress to be elected under the terms of the Articles of Confederation.[1] Because of this, some people claimed that he was the first President of the United States."

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ohn_Hanson

The first ELECTED president of the United States under the Constitution was George Washington.

Question: How long have you all been Prince fans?

Isn't it basically understood that he is not normal and has always been (to a varying degree) a bit crazy? This has been the case since day one. At least since he was giving Dick Clark the silent treatment. I mean, it's Prince...what do you expect?

That was discussed in a thread here not too long ago. You are referring to the 2004 State of the Black Union. Mr. Gregory spoke about manganese among other things. Prince stated some of the lyrics in "Dreamer" was inspired by Mr. Gregory, the part in the song where P sings about "holding on to the steering wheel tight " which was stated by Mr. Gregory during the conference;that line is in reference to racial profiling, and the other lyrics in "Dreamer" which questions the chemtrails conspiracy, wasalso inspired by Mr. Gregory.
