Why is this ACCEPTED!? People (including some of you on this site) seem to think, "Ahhh, it's no big deal. She was just trying to get her CD into his hands. She didn't realize it was so bad." Suppose it was Brittney Spears' house and the person breaking in was a black man.... Okay... Stop the press. That black man would have been arrested, his mug shot would be all over the internet, he would have absolutely NO future in music and he'd probably get a few years jail time. What a fucking double standard that it's partially excused because this girl is white, cute and bubbly. Am I right or wrong? I think you are partially right. It's not like she broke into Will Smith's house. She broke into Prince's house. And if she were a black man breaking into say...Cindy Lauper's house, again....nobody would react that strongly, including cops. It's all about the image the celebrity victim projects and the image the alleged criminal projects. In this case you have a short black guy that doesn't over expose himself in the media he way a Brit Spears does, and you have this cute little white girl who most would think couldn't hurt a fly. It is wrong what she did but in actuality, Prince didn't have that big a problem with it cuz he could have fought to have her incarcerated. | |
