NPG Ahdio So I travel a lot for work and get lots of windshield time. Yesterday I decided to just shuffle my entire iPod and see what came up. Lo and behold, I heard three of the NPGMC Ahdio tracks. Man, I miss these. Of all the ventures Prince has tried on the internet, I think that this idea was by far the best. Not art, not shirts, not videos, etc. Just music.
I think the one I like best is the one he did after 9-11.

The one after 9/11 (which would be 8 or 9 I think, since the numbers of the shows were 1 or 2 off from the number of the month; NPGMC started in February) is good. A lot of his "spiritual" based songs. Toward the end of the shows, they were all pseudo-club mixes of his songs, which wasn't always a bad thing. He only DJ'd the first one, to my knowledge.

ahdio 6 was mine, and have to agree that this was a great idea...one that should be re-birthed. Wishful thinking anyway.

Was that TRC, the show after 9-11 (where "Pearls B4 The Swine" debuted), or the ahdio show with the concert at the end from the last "Prince" shows (Irresistible B, LGC, etc.). **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I was about to start a thread about certain ahdio's shows. These were indeed excellent. Well, in hindsight, at the time I didn't take much notice. It's actually refreshing to hear some house remixes on a show like this, since I rarely play them myself. Also hearing other artists that P apparently dug at the time is fun as well.
My fave show is number four. Where it starts of with 5, 6 tracks from a Parade show in Germany. I wonder you, controversy. Brilliant, since I only knew the birthday show of '86. Resurrecting the ahdio shows could be a wise move and a great outlet for P to communicate with his fans, try-out new material, show his love for new and old school music. I'm sure he has some treasures in his music collection!
