Prince needs to have his own tribute!!!

When was the last time a musical tribute was done in his honor? I can't think of it. I was just talking about this with another fan and we think it's time that one of these award shows put Prince up as their legend "honoree" and get some of these artists to perform his music. If you ever notice, it's always the same rotation of legends being honored at all the different events. I think Prince is long overdue for some tributes of his own. His music and influence is STILL relevant today, people are STILL using the classic Prince sound in their music. Take a listen to Alicia Keys brand new disc, she has a song called "This Bed"....P is all in that record. What do you think? If this were to happen, what artists should be in the line-up?
tho' I battled blind
love is a fate resigned
memories mar my mind
love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game

He was just inducted into the Rock in Roll Hall of Fame. I think that's fair enough. He doesn't need to have any more of a tribute than that at this time.
The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

The reason a tribute hasn't been done is because this man 'tributizes' himself every two seconds.
If p took a break from pattin' himself on the back, there would be space and time for someone else to do it.

Michael Jordan resisted the Hall of Fame because to him it meant a time had passed, and never will be again. I think prince has a side of him that wouldnt mind the accolades of a "Special" in his honor, but this side of his personality isnt very strong. I can see him viewing it as an ending and i'm pretty sure he is taking his relationship with the music to his grave.
