Aside from his music, why do you like Prince?

He was there for me in my youth to show me and celebrate with me my sexual openness that others judged harshly. Plus ... he was funky. Now, 30 years later, I like him because we've "grown up" together, and I've listened to him go through marriages, religious change and even sexual mellowing, just as I have. And he's still funky! He's also a role model because he fights for his rights as an artist, promotes vegetarianism, peace and tolerance. He's also a rocker who doesn't do drugs.
How about you? Why do you like him?

For me, it's all about the music. But I will admit, that it is nice to see someone from my youth still performing and putting out new stuff, whether you agree with it or not! I'm sure that is one reason why I'm still a fan! cool

I used to so admire his free spirit and abandon.

Now it's pretty much strictly a music-only thing.

Earlier in Prince's career he had a daring style about him. With age Prince became classier.

Not only did Prince become more talented with guitar, piano, and his voice...His writing matured as well as his stage presence.

Prince grows more charming through the years. cool

His entire personality. And because he is more manly and sexy than any other man I've ever seen. The more feminine he seems the more masculine he becomes. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure there are plenty of women that understand what I mean. wink I also dig the fact that he "stands tall", no matter what. That man surely knows how to bend in the wind without breaking. Just got to admire him for so many things. He's also a great rolemodel for young artists, of course. His name always puts a big smile on my face.biggrin

He seemed to pick up where Hendrix left off. He was 60s psychedelic + new wave + new romantic all rolled into one -
and he sang about sex and he also seemed to love God. He was just the bomb for a few years there. 1982-1985

Then 1990 happened. But it's cool, he still has all of you.

For me it was about creativity and diversity.
Prince's whole thing(was visual)which is why I'm a bit disappointed with his current scene and get really excited when I see him break out of that conservative look. As far as clothing is concerned and the band/members.

From the album and stage backdrops for Prince and his bands:the Time, Vanity 6 Sheila E the Family, the colors the movements the 'multiracial' visuals the flowed from the music.

I'm a very in between person:racially politically socially and Princes early years just did a lot for me
