What's your fave "Prince was funny on tv" moment Memories from back then, early 1997:
![]() This was funny (imo.): Rosie O'Donell calling Prince - not TAFKAP - but the nickname "Taffy".... - and Prince replied, "you know what that rhymes on, don't you"?.... "Good night"... both were laughing. they seemed to have good chemestry between them: Prince and Rosie. Very nice interview. The performance of "Somebody's Somebody" was brilliant. Did he play "The Holy River" too.. ?? what's your "fave & funny Prince Tv moment" ![]() [Edited 11/29/09 9:14am] [Edited 11/29/09 21:22pm] Prince 4Ever. ![]()

I have to respectfully disagree.
The Rosie O Donnell interview was a cringefest. If Prince had had a shred of self respect he would have walked off. He looked uncomfortable and awkward when she was totally ripping the piss right out him. He was plugging Emancipation though so he was never going to leave. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

It showed he could take a joke. It's not like he expects to sit w/ a comedian and NOT have a joke cracked about his name or whatever. You can't expect Prince to be a diva 24/7 just because someone gives him a zinger. He's not the only funny person in an interview.

The Muppet thing was cool when he was talking to the Security bear
at the beginning.. and its always "fun" when he is on Leno and TALKS to Jay. I loved when they were playing pranks on each other and Jay told Prince that one day he was gonna wake up naked Chained to a lamp post!! ![]() ![]() And watching Princes reaction when Leno was dressed up like a Security guard was cute too. I think People who don't think Prince has a good sence of Humor are fools.... I have followed him since 1980 and seen him live MANY MANY times and seen darn near all there is to see of him... and he has a good wit! ![]()

My favorite is the We Are The World performance - as we all know did not participate ("I'd rather wrote a song instead" HELLO). I've seen this several times, that he is dressed in yellow, in front of the whole gang and he is not singing, but he is lip syncing with a lollipop. ANYONE REMEMBER THIS?

Quincy Jones offers him a mic then Prince offers Quincy his lollipop, when Quincy goes to suck it Prince pulls it away. I think I heard somewhere that Quincy wsas might pissed off with Prince after that. ![]() Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He has been funny from the start
In one of his early TV interviews he stopped answering verbally and started to hold up fingers to communicate those answers. The presenter was lost. Part of this might be due to shyness but I feel that Prince had gotten bored with the anal questions. The right to free discussion is protected!!

"Mel Gibson! What's shakin' Baby?? U...U wanna go see a movie?" That had me rollin'... A lot of regular folks wouldn't have picked up on what Prince was thinking, but for us fans.....well, THAT was embarrassing to me. He was just ITCHING to talk God w/ Gibson, and spout his stauros nonsense.

Prince almost getting punked by Jay Leno on the Tonight show. When Prince popped out of the sun roof letting Jay know he wasn't falling for the security guard bit it was too cute. It was really funny when Jay allerted P to the hidden camera...the laugh Princey made and how he ducked back into the limo once he realised where the camera was is an absolute tv funny moment classic!!!
