just my take on it: I think the Cat may Have Been Abused as a Child&Music was His Refuge&Salvation too cope.He picked His Battles&dealing with Being Black,Short,Family&Self-Esteem can create many things.while I wasn't that big on the Album"Come" the Elvis Cover ala Graceland spoke volumes about a Cat dealing&Coping with things.it's the Sacrafices you make for Stardom&In Life that you tie all together. mistermaxxx | |

I think he was singing that line in the third person. The abuse is of a young child being locked in a closet and beaten. He is portraying the child in the song; I don't beleive he WAS that abused child. Just my opinion. | |
