Your favourite remix of a Prince track by another artist/producer? The one that stands out for me is William Orbit's masterful deep tech house mix of The Future from 1989 - the one that was released on that 5inch CD thing. [Edited 12/1/09 15:08pm]

I have a 12" version of "Solo" remixed by Hani. The label is purple and in black letters "Color Purple" If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

[Edited 12/1/09 15:08pm] I thought Electric Chair 12" was much better than 'The Future' but I've never really cared for the song (The Future.). [Edited 12/2/09 19:07pm] I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Now THAT would be interesting. I always thought that song was screaming for some sort of remix, because it was just naked and spartan to begin with.

[Edited 12/1/09 15:08pm] Actually Mark Moore from S'Express did that remix. They are both credited but Mark did most of it from what I've heard. |

For the record, Shock G's remix of "LoveSign" and QD3's remix of "Letitgo" are both superb. |

I'm a big fan of the Shep Pettibone Remix of "Glam Slam" on the 12."
The Sherm Stick Mix of "Letitgo" is pretty much a masterpiece. I really like the Steve 'Silk' Hurley mix of "Gangster Glam." The rave-y mixes of "My Name is Prince" on that CD Maxi is pretty good. There's a really good white label of "U Got The Look" by Soularis that's quite nice. I've never heard the Hani mix of "Solo" but I will damn well try to do so. Hani is a great mixer. Once upon a time in a haystack of despair; happiness sometimes hard to find, yeah.

Can't say that I like many remixes of Princes songs, they always come out a bit cheesy. As though they're pretending to be dance tunes when they're nothing like what would ever be played in a real club.
For me the best 2 are a couple of funky house versions of Controversy & Uptown. That's about it though. blah blah blah
