I just checked Amazon.com and it says that The Vault cd is back in print and its for sale for 11.98. I find this strange because I know this cd has been out of print for a loooong time and its a WB cd and out of all the out of print cds (Gold,black album,Chaos and disorder) this was the one they chose. Anyways,i have a Birthday coming up and i want some opinions of this cd.Is it worth 12$? wats ur fav tracks?

Yes it's worth it...Anything by Prince U can get ahold of these days is worth having.

A good little sleeper album, which happens to contain one of my all time favorite Prince songs...When the Lights Go Down. Man I love that tune.

Very nice cd, buy it.

EVERY track is FUNKIN AMAZING, especially Old Friends for sale and Extraordinary.

Much like it's counterpart, C&D, it's found way more fans after it's release than it initially had.

If you want the lot, get it - Why not. Even with the sucky version of OF4S.

Hey yeah its worth for WHEN THE LIGHTS GO DOWN alone!! SARAH IS GREAT, the extended version of She Spoke 2 Me is great....get it and enjoy. My only pet peeve with it is that its an 'outtake' CD and it only has like 10 tracks!!!

i think it is totally worth it, 5 women, sarah, extraordianry, my little pill, there is lonely the whole album is good in my opinion

I love The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale. It doesn't sound like a mish-mash to me, but a real cohesive jazzy record. Chaos And Disorder does sound like Purple Stew, but it's still a great album.

The Black Album will probably stay out of print forever, since it was intended as a limited release. And we all know how Prince feels about that album.

The Gold Experience was also an NPG imprint, so Warners has to have his permission more than likely for re-pressings. Prince will probably let that album languish in obscurity as well.

All Prince CDs will eventually go out of print. History tells us that post-Warner Bros CDs will stay out of print. Warners has the option to press or delete their catalog at will, and with the labels losing money these days, they will lean toward the latter on slow sellers.

If you see a Prince record, don't hesitate to get it when it's cheap. Otherwise you'll be paying Goldnigga money for that Chaos And Disorder CD.

The butchering of "Old Friends For Sale" is unforgivable. The rest of the tracks defy explanation. Featuring lackluster material with low commercial and artistic merit, my best guess is that he didn't want to give WB more of his "children", but the fans who spent their money on this contract dispute took a black eye in that move.

a really enjoyable and incredibly well played album.She spoke to me is incredible, 5 women rivals BB Kings blues guitar tones and when the lights go down is just coolness and sexiness stripped down to the basics as only P can do!.

A rather pleasant surprise, this album.

It is just a collection of outtakes, but it 'works' because most songs are in the same jazzy, bluesy vein and he and his band sound rather carefree. It sounds like they are just having fun playing those songs 'live in the studio' and not caring a lot about making some big kind of statement, or dealing with a certain theme.

And IMO its the better for that.

I appreciate it a lot more then his 'official releases' around that time (New Power Soul, Rave).
