Prince should bring in famous guest singers/rappers!

Some of u would love 2 see prince dominate the charts with 1 album.
Now prince could have the best album written arranged produced performed
but only his fans & musicians/producers will purchase it.

Now I believe prince should work with his friends not past singers/musicians but present day singers/musicians. He should get his friends like outkast beyonce alicia keys d'angelo questlove pharell madonna etc 2 appear on his new album.
with out doubt this album will be huge because he will be surrounded
by the talents in black culture at the moment.
Imagine what it would do for prince.
an album that sounds black from rock funk jazz soul etc

Oh by the way a PRINCE WRITTEN ARRANGED PRODUCED album.
we all know prince does not need help but he could do with additional names
that would open the eyes of the youth of 2day.
they need 2 b educated what real music sound like.

He's already done this with Gwen Stefani, Eve, Q-Tip, Sheryl Crow, Chuck D.

If memory serves me correctly, I recall everyone on here ripping him to shreds for doing so.

Unfortunately Rave didn't do too well sales wise, although I love the album. This was down to poor marketing though, not the concept behind the album.

I don't think getting into the charts is that of great importance anymore. I'm sure he does not mind if it does hit the charts.

He just wants to put out the music for his fans.

While I really love Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, really, the "all-star" collabs there obviously that well-liked by Prince, he buried Sheryl and Gwen into the background, and they rarely/never sung a line to themselves, without Prince singing over it too.
Ani DiFranco could have been anyone, Eve was pointless etc.

If he'd let Sheryl and Gwen be louder in the mix of Baby Knows, and released that as a single, it would have got attention.

But it's clear he wasn't that comfortabl working with musicians he wasn't familar with or didn't pick as proteges/whatever.

prince is a brilliant musician and sometimes his music needs 2 b exposed for the future generations. 2 educate them about music.

I've always said if Prince was going to delve into hip hop at all he needed to do it w/great lyricists. If he did an album similar in concept to Heavy Rhyme Experience by the Brand New Heavies it would be killer. He needs to work with:

really prince needing contemporary artists (and i use that term very loosely) to sell himself. he doesnt need to. I agree that as a prince fan you wish the whole world could hear him live if only to see the real prince not some 80s vision of him. Prince writes for other people, he doesnt need a collaboration album just for people to say 'hes a has been - but hes quite good on that beyonce one'.

i dont like to admit this but i think the prince madonna collaborations was the best of his career and as for this thread i think prince should do the opposite of what is suggested here ... he should be a guest on other peoples albums if he wants a hit... like the madonna tune or the while my guitar gently weeps solo ... he should drop some cameos short little bursts of genius weather it be drums or keyboards like stevie nicks or something more interesting like the kate bush collabo or how he sat in on the ani tune (great prince parts mediocre ani song) ..

hes got to put out a truly brilliant album .. that means check the lyrics prince ... start listening to leonard cohen or dylan again and find that balance between art and poetry and try not to sound too egotistical or preachy ... get down to the message ... the songs have been good but its the lyrics that used to bring it home and now its the lyrics that make me not like a song ... its not the message ... peace love understanding ... its the delivery .... i dont know how to describe it but yeah i think if he is out for money then thats the plan ... if not just pull a one man band imo ... its almost march there should be another album out soon ... his live shows have been really really good lately so i have high hopes
