3 Chains of Gold: Genius or just pure cheese To me this track is really something. Consumate prince, big melodies, weird orchestration from clare fisher, great arrangement, unusual chord progressions, mega solos. I love the guitar and the epic nature of the whole tune, but and it really is a massive BUT, the whole "this morning I wanted some breakfast section" is just really appauling. Crappy castanets, crap lyrics, and just a strange direction to take the song into, until it finally get back on track towards the end.
I find it an oddity that a songwriter who can so effortlessly demonstrate such superb songwriting in one part of a tune can then go on to display such a dreadful bit of songwriting in another part of the same tune. Is this just a case of someone should have said, "hey prince, the castanets bit, scrap it, it's not very good matey boy". What do y'all think? [Edited 11/25/09 8:07am] | |
