While waiting in line at the grocery store I checked out the new PEOPLE mag. Of course I was looking for Prince but doubted that I would find it.

Has Prince lost his mojo as some might say? Has it gotten so bad that an ordinary looking guy with an average amount of sex appeal, like Spike, can make the list but P can't? At first I found this hard to believe since this was the year that Prince put out a CD that was advertised by Target and he appeared on Ellen and with Jay Leno.

But then I thought some more. This may sound strange, but I think Camille is not aging as well as Prince is. In the old days it didn't matter what that man wore he was sexy. He could wear a completely beat face, lots of lace and big hair and when I look at those pics I still think he had it.

That was then,and this is now.
When he was photographed at the airport or in the red suit on stage I think he is hot. HOWEVER when he went to the fashion show wearing the "ladies who lunch" pantsuit and delicate cane I was totally turned off. At the airport he looked about 40, in the gray garb he looked 60 to me.
Also when he was on Leno and sang S.H.O.E. his mannerisms for the first time seemed eccentric only, he seemed not one bit sexy to me.

Later I thought of how Drag Queens look so fantastic when they are in their 20's but really haggard when they get middle age.

Anyway, it's obvious that PEOPLE does not have the same opinion as many orgers do.

the "androgyny" (sp?) period is somewhat over in the mainstream. has been for awhile. prince based his whole career on it. so he can't tone it down now cuz A.thats what makes him who he is B. he simply isnt able to c. he prolly wont do it. mainstream likes rugged "Regular" joe type of looks now.

kinda sad he has to hide behind make up and eye liner for prolly the rest of his life but ehhh what are you gonna do at least mike escaped that burden.

During the TRC period he moved away from it alot. I think he should have stayed there. Age and make-up don't do well together. I think P changed his look up more than MJ so he shouldn't feel that he "has" to stay the same and become a character of himself. I was suprised by the Planet Earth cover because he still claims to be a witness and I thought he'd never sway that way again. But then he is Prince and has never been good at following rules.

Just because Spike may be in People's sexiest issue and Prince isn't doesn't say one is sexier than the other. They always leave lots of folks off that list. I also believe you have to agree to be photographed and a brief interview. Oh well

No I don't agree. I don't think anybody is sexier than Prince...male or female...except maybe me when I've got love on my mind.

again...people pay attention to these "lists"?

They're paid for by the exact thing Prince goes against.

Lol, what! Spike Lee never has been nor will he ever be sexy. He's a great filmmaker. That's it. Prince is sexier and better looking. It's not even close.

Prince was born beautiful. I'm not sure WHAT Spike lee was born with, but beauty was not it.
