Nope.

I think he's always ignored 94 East.

Prince did rerecord "If You See Me" as Do Yourself A Favor. His version remains unreleased officially. Jesse Johnson featured Do Yourself A Favor on his Shockadelica LP, though.

I'm thinking about buying this--does P sing on all the songs or are some all instrumental as on some of his other unreleased albums? As good as Crystal Ball set?

I don't listen to this album often, but I like it.
Amazing to hear how was "young" Prince talented. Some guitar solos are very much Santana-like.

Nope, it's nothing like those other albums.

Prince was little more than a session musician for 94 East. So he only really
appears as a musician (mostly guitar and a bit of keyboard and drums). he doesn't
sing lead on any of the tracks (in fact, you can only just about hear him singing
backup on two or three tracks). All the songs were written by Pepe Willie, with
only one track being co-written with Prince.

Its hard to say what songs he does on that album, I am sure he plays most of the guitars and keyboards on Just Another Sucker, do yourself a favour, games and if you see me, if you feel like dancing (Andre) along with One man Jam which I am sure the one man was Prince. I also know some of those songs like "Just another sucker" were from late 1978 early 1979 when Prince was already a signed artist and had an album out.
My copy has about 10 other songs, I know have no Prince involvement, it was a cash in by Pepe Willie on the Prince bandwagon.
Its like 10 years earlier when Lonnie Youngblood put out an album of songs claiming they were by Jimi Hendrix and written in 1966, when really they all dated from 1963 and were all 3rd rate soul covers with names like Walking wth Bessie Mae and Poison. Jimis involvement on guitar was doubtful.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

yes 'minneapolis genius' are re-recorded songs by Prince/Pepe Willie

the original songs appear on 'Symbolic Beginnings'

Disc: 1 (the newer/re-recorded 'minneapolis genius' tracks)
1. Just Another Sucker
2. If You Feel Like Dancin'
3. Lovin' Cup
4. Games
5. Dance to the Music of the World
6. One Man Jam

Disc: 2 (original sessions - Cookhouse Five?)
1. If You See Me
2. Games [Original Version]
3. I'll Always Love You
4. Better Than You Think
5. If We Don't
6. You Can Be My Teacher
7. Love, Love, Love
8. Dance to the Music of the World [Practice Version]
9. If You See Me [Instrumental Version]
10. Games [Instrumental Version]

These earlier songs are the gems in the pack - you can hear Prince messing about in the studio on track 8. Plus I love 'love, love, love' very Prince-like.

Does anyone have that graphic that was on Pepe's site which showed the Prince/Pepe "family tree"? The site no longer hosts it, but it would be nice to have the jpg as reference.

Anyone?
