Miles to the big Screen next year with Prince (new) Music?

MILES TO THE BIG SCREEN with Prince (new) music?

From a Music French store Mag (FNAC store) "OPENMAG" in news section!

"At the end of his lecture at the Museum Quai Branly, last October 15, Quincy Troupe has unveiled details about the movie adapted from his book, Miles and Me (castor astral), in filming next year and directed by James Gray.
He has given the names of Samuel Jackson (Miles) and Laurence Fishburne (Quincy Jones) for casting. Producers are considering Prince for the Music!

To be continued ...."

The French(maybe this same magazine) have also recently written that Prince is negotiating the Montreux DVD and has been in talks for the past year about remastering his WB catalog - including bonus tracks, etc. Prince want's $15 million from Warner Bros for this to happen.*

As long as he does a track titled "These Muthafuckin' Snakes On This Muthafuckin' Plane!"
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Well, for starters...he's dead.

I'm sure they intend to use Miles's music. But they'd need someone to score the film. shrug

I agree, I don't think Prince help would be needed as far as music is concern. I don't think it would be bad neither.

Hey, I don't blame him. Why not get 15 million 4 his WB catalog 2 be remastered with bonus tracks. The remastering of that Prince's WB catalog will be an event. It's been in demand 4 a long-time, so much could go down if this deal is done correctly.

If it's true, the price sounds fair. I would imagine that negotiations could stall in regard to who controls what and not so much the amount being asked.

This story is 100% true, we got confirmation from someone who works with music industry (source: schkopi french forum)...WB is very interested in this reissue project but Prince wants at this stage too much money from them!
