I mean come on..I hear people all the time say "man,I need a break from Prince".

Its cool to like other artist but,Prince is everyhing in one,RNB,Rock,Pop,New Wave,Funk,etc.

good lawrd.. I put over 800 Prince Tracks on my Ipod and listed 2 them for 5 days straight...By the time the 6th day came..He was in my Dreams..And i swore i was about 2 go insane.. I needed a serious break!! My dreams were vivid and strange..it scared me enough to just walk away for a minute until i got it together...lmao..it seeped into my subconcious!

been there since 1983, I sometimes gets a little tired of Prince's new music, it doesn't live up to his old 1978 to 1995,

I guess those who needs a break from Prince are in my situation, they are old fans who just needs a break.

Prince albums 1996 to 2009 haven't been that great, but I guess newbiee fans who likes 3121, Musicology and Planet Earth don't understand that.

too many live shows with the same closers ... the addiction is fueled by the rarities but if i have to hear lets go crazy one more time ima gonna start wondering where all the purple banannas grow ... so why do u think prince was into elevators then reverted to the ladder ...

when i need a prince break i turn to frank black/black francis ... janes addiction and offshoots and the cure ... maybe a little ani difranco or phish james brown all good bands for obsessive compulsive types as prince fans tend to be ... lots of interesting live shows to be dug up ... but the reality is prince has done so much and in so many different ways ... if u keep to his best era its hard to get sick of him ... its only when he began repeating his own formula ...

anywho, i can understand those who feel like they need a purple break. Prince inside is soulful & genuine, however his exterior shell is covered by pop/synths/effects/athsetics. Thus certain songs wear off. Rather quickly.
