The first two discs are cool!

crystal ball is one of my Favorite songs..depends which one you have though..one is much better quality,, the other is longer..

Gheezus, and I get MY threads deleted for not "contributing" more to them???

This set realy proves princes versatility.
There are gems all over the place...the only down side would be
that there are a few remixes i could have done with out...and replaced
with some other unreleased stuff. the crystle ball set is like a gift.
as these songs were not meant 2b released...

Those are probably my top 5 on there. 'The Truth' is wonderful too.

I'd agree that the remixes would have been better replaced with more songs from the Vault.

Only got it this year in a receivership sale, but theres a few throwawy tracks like most albums the rest is amazing. The first two songs on Disc One are worth the purchase price alone. The song Crystal Ball must be heard in its entirety, you could turn it into an opera. Theres a lot of remixes and lesser 90s tracks, but overall theres a lot of brilliant stuff too, maybe if he could have put more on each disc, 10 traxs seems slim, but the following are truly top shelf.
Also I love his overblown stuff more than most people, a lot of people would say Strays of the World is long, complex and overproduced stuff, like 3 chains of Gold, whereas I would say they are both absolute genius (Then again I am a big fan of Pink Floyd!)

"The Truth," is fantastic...excellent guitar.

I like all of "Crystal Ball," I Love "Lovesign," "Rippop," "Crucial," "So Dark," "Strays of the World."

The remixes that's the problem.

The rest of it is fantastic.

I don't know how to feel about this album sometimes...

Some of the songs are pretty great, but overall it's a mixed bag.

I find myself enjoying a lot of the first disc, even though I think they are inferior songs. Whenever I start comparing material like this to Prince's high watermarks, it makes them seem pretty bad.

With a lot of listening, you can find plenty to like, I think.

i been listening 2 prince since i was five and i am now 17 and i've never heard a album worst than this one..

I really love it, especially for the mid 90's material that was missing on albums like TGE, Come, Chaos and Exodus.

I agree with Nyse, we always wanted him to open the vault, well...he did, with The crystal ball. It ain't perfect, it's got a lot of remix but I kinda think that these tracks, Prince loved them so much that he didn't want them to be unheard, he wanted to share them with us. And I agree with Huggibear, the first two songs are worth the price !

crystal ball was & is the shit. it took forever to get to me but it was worth it. There's a couple of bad remixes but the rest is golden.
