It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night Appreciation

I've always loved this song heart worship It's one of those songs I can put on and just jam out to lol I mean I can complete projects around the house and still hear the funk headbang I love Prince & the Revolution's interactions with the audience on this one cool Great song that doesn't really get props around here eek but is well deserving of some worship

The Revolution version, on the album, always seemed a little dull to me. But the SOTT-movie version, and all the versions with Sheila on them that I've heard on concert boots, absolutely kick ass.

The post-Revolution version of the song is one of my all-time favorites. I've always thought it was kind of an alternate to Baby, I'm a Star, in the sense that BIAS was a song he could stretch out on stage to last as long as he wanted--he could go 20 or 30 minutes with that song if he wanted to. This was a different song he could do that with and not still be in Purple Rain mode.

I love the song. The album version is amazing, another classic cut. The live version that was performed 1987 is classic and off the hook. I just wish that The Revolution got a chance 2 perform this cut along with many of the 'Sign O' The Times' tracks after they were released.

I know what you mean

Now the SOTT album version is live during the Parade tour.
I love both live renditions though

I was just listening to Paris show of this song it was really 'cold' and lacked the feeling you felt during the album version or the SOTT movie

Most of the SOTT live versions all felt like they needed some extra something, but the movie version does kick

Bittersweet, I do love this version the best because everyone from Paisley Park except for Mazarati is there, including Sheila E & Jill Jones

It does not have gem status for me, so it's not on my ipod.
Re-listening via cd and it's still just...ok.
Or am I only meant to be on the thread if I appreciate it ? cool

The grooves that the band move through on this song is nothing short of phenomenal. The musicianship blows my mind. the boot version on 'nows the time' is incredible - "talkin' 'bout the six"

Said the table 2 the chair
"You can hardly be aware
How I suffer from the heat
And from chillblains on my feet!
If we took a little walk
We might have a little talk!
Pray let us take the air!"
Said the table to the chair

Said the chair to the table
"Now you know we are not able!
How foolishly you talk
When you know we cannot walk!"
Said the table with a sigh
"It can do no harm to try
I've as many legs as you
Why can't we walk on two?"

So they both went showly down
And walked about the town
With a cheerful bumpy sound
As they toddled round and round
And everybody cried
As they hastened to their side
"See the table and the chair
Have come 2 take the air!"

But in going down an alley
To a castle in the valley
They completely lost their way
And wandered all the day
Till, to see them safely back
They paid a ducky-quack
And a beetle and a mouse
Who took them to their house.

When they whispered to each other
"O delightful little brother!
What a lovely walk we've taken!
Let us dine on beans and bacon!"
So the ducky and the little browny
mousey and the beetle dined,
And danced upon the heads
Till they toddled to their beds.
Good God

yeah, the sott versions are my favorite also dancing jig. "people, people, got a brand new dance..." headbang. still love the album version, but lost a bit of love for it, when i found out the whole thing wasn't exactly "live" sad nuts. "ohh wee oh oh ohhh..." music
