I remember hearing the instrumental snippet that was leaked late last year and was convinced it was a fake. It sounded so cliche and horrid.
However, after digesting the album version a few times I really started to dig it. It's just a really fun Prince summer jam in the vein songs like "1999", "Lovesexy", "Can't Stop This Feeling" etc (though perhaps not entirely in that league). There's so much happening in it - little background subtlties and whatnot. I'd suggest listening to this with a good pair of headphones. The lyrics are hilarious! It's Prince taking the piss out of his own ego. My only gripe is that I find it goes a minute or two too long. The finale instrumental bits aren't really convincing to me.
