Good cause or not, Tom Joyner's creating buzz and selling tickets to gullible listeners with the "we're negotiating with [Prince, Sade, etc.]" routine,
knowing full well that he's only gonna book 2/3 of The Gap Band and one of The Four Tops.

Tom just stated on his show that he was in negotiations with Prince to perform on his cruise. From what he's saying, Prince would do the show for a million dollars, but Tom said they didn't have that kind of money. Hmmm?!?!?

Well, after Vegas..a cruise ship seems like the next logical step.
then Dancing With The Stars, Donald Trumps, Apprentice, a stint on TMZ, a little rehab, indian casinos,.thats just showbiz baby.

If you read some of the posts from other orgers here, they stated he asked a lot more than $1 mil from other promoters.

Secondly, earlier this year, Prince did a concert in LA, after the State of the Black Union Conference, in which Tavis Smiley announced Prince agreed to do at his request, so trying to pull the "brotha" thing isn't going to work. Business is business. If he did favors all the time, and no money exchanged for his performance, then he'd be broke with no money to pay band members or travelling expenses.

My two cents - A "Prince" cruise would be awesome! I think he could make bank

on something like this. Fans have always talked about pooling their money

together for an exclusive concert. Why not try and get a cruise thing going?
