if CDs are real or copies, photos?

Hey, is there a site around which shows what the booklets (inside of them) of discs (mostly side projects) and the actual CDs with the code number on them look like. I've bought a few CDs on the internet and want to know if they are the real deal. Thanks.

Well don't tell us what they are, or give any information for us to help.

just in general I want to see if what I have is the real deal. Just got Sheila E The Glamorous Life and Romance 1600. I also have the first three Time albums. I got the first Madhouse album last year and it appears to be a copy.

Well, tell us about it. Why do you believe it to be a copy? UPC code? the CD itself? The artwork printed on card stock?

Try using the search function, maybe it will come up with that old thread about some fake and some legit Vanity 6 CDs that were available on Ebay. There was a lot of valuable info on that thread.

The Time and Sheila albums are all pretty easy to come by, so I doubt they would be copies, you can grab them off Amazon etc easy enough.

The Madhouse one, you definately have to be more cautious with, like the Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, Jill Jones, The Family, Mazarati etc, there are copies out there, so beware of "bonus tracks", mint copies at low prices etc.

I would add to what NouveauDance said by mentioning the reissued Encore labeled CDs by Rhino. They look like fakes because of the shoddy rescanned artwork, but are legit. These include Pandemonium, Sex Cymbal, Sheila E(S/T) and Romance 1600.

Housequake used to have some excellent pages with pix that showed how to spot a fake Prince CD. As far as I know, no other site has that info. Hopefully http://princevault.com or someone else will provide this material at some point. It was a valuable tool.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Thanks, I knew there was a site that had pics from a while back. Cheers
