P-Funk should have been on Lotusflow3r I am talking about getting P funk on the individual disc Lotus, does not belong with the mediocrity of Mpls sound. Would have been nice fit, and would love to have this song on a CD. Maybe slot it in inbetween Love like Jazz and Beverly Park. merf

I totally disagree with the slot in between "Love Like Jazz," and " 77 Beverly Park."
I like the song, but whenever Prince is upset...I feel disappointed. I feel sorry that Prince was moved to write that song even though it could go onto an album. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I put it on planet earth in place of Chelsea Rodgers. Much better album after that. It wouldn't do so well on lotus for me. RIP

I would have rather have it on an individual CD-Single. Some one-off release, like "The War" or something. At the same time I acknowledge the hit-and-run nature of the streaming or downloading from the web - That song was just something he had to get out of his chest. But the result actually deserved some more recognition, I think, so a physical format (vinyl or CD) would have been real cool.

On my iPod I have F.U.N.K. right after Dance 4 Me
Keeps that shit rollin! four-song punch! There'll Never Be Chocolate Box -w/(c)rap edited out /Discojellyfish Dance 4 Me F.U.N.K. U're Gonna C Me Here Valentina Better With Time Turn Me Loose Old Skool Company No More Candy 4 U is how I roll with that Then I have the Lotusflow3r album next so From the Lotus & Boom come quite nicely right after No More Candy. Turn Me Loose goes good right before OSC because it's all old school itself & it sets a good pace for a nice three-song punch at the end. A good 11 song album U could even snip out Valentina (b-side material? - of course if there were still b-sides) & Better w/Time & have an even tighter album.... but those songs are ok and once in a while I don't skip them howcouldIforgettheDiscojellyfish?? edit [Edited 11/14/09 18:29pm] "Hyperactive when I was small, Hyperactive now I'm grown, Hyperactive 'till I'm dead and gone"

I disagree. Given that it is basically a rehash of Nasty Girl and How Wit U had the Nasty Girl remix, it's just starting to feel like Prince is throwing the same idea out at us over and over. He wanted to cuss his fans out a bit for criticizing him so much on the boards, he did that, we applauded his passion, but in the end he was smart to leave it's official release to a future 'Best Of CD' or something. In the end the song really isn't very enjoyable anyway. Just a throwaway track to show us a bit of the old fire. A bit.

Well, It was "just" the jam of 2007' fall. No biggie, yet better than nothing. And even if bitter, it had a message. It did it for me!

call it what you like, i still think it beats anything on "planet earth".
not sure where it would fit on lotusflower but it would fit in with the rest of the material quite well, i think. anyway, one of his best songs of the decade. top 10 material for sure imo. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I do believe the song belongs on an album as its a super cool song. I like it so much that I burned that single song on a disc so it just repeated over & over again, its pretty long too.

I agree completely. It may not be his most original melody (though calling it a "Nasty Girl" rehash is a bit simplistic.), but it's a great track. There's an energy to that recording which is largely absent from Prince's music these days.

Young Prince would have delivered all the humor, ad libs, twists and riffs + an actual song. Prince has gotten away from that. Pfunk was a step in the right direction, but you can't deny that it was incomplete and he should have tightened up the lyrics.

Eye think that this song was better as a single...especially since its message was reserved 4 that point in time 4 a select group of people...so y should he add it 2 a new album...when it wasn't an initial thought 2 bgin with....in the album he only mentions the event as an afterthought with the line...."2 all the haters on the internet: no more candy 4 u!...."

I never understood the appreciation this tune got.
It's not a great track Similar in theme to "no more candy" small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!
