In spring 1983,I heard a rumor that Prince died after overdosing on cocaine.Here in the Bay Area,this rumor was so widespread that our local R&B station (KSOL) mentioned it on the air,saying that it is untrue.

Most of the the ridiculous rumors were started by him..Like...
"LEGALLY changing his name to the symbol"
"Retiring".....At least Twice
"Never performing any songs recorded under the name Prince"
"Never performing his hits again"
"Split personality and dont know what sex the other person is"
"Mixed race..italian, white and black"
And Im sure there are more, but Im tired.....

Also: the one that Prince is not Prince that since 86 he has been in hiding on Prince Island and the person we know as prince has just been pretending. The story is pretty elaborate but it stops in the 90s.

THE RUMOUR I REMEMBER was somewhere this era, or 1999, that it was said that Prince would come on stage during a Fema Kuti concert in club Effenaar, here in Eindhoven, Holland. It was in a year and month that Prince stayed in Holland for some shows, so it would have been possible. It must have been 2002 or 1998 because then were the last shows in Holland...

I don't know if it is a rumor or true, but Prince was supposed to play the Wesley Snipes' character in the Michael Jackson video Bad. However, he said the first line was, "your butt is mine." He said he wasn't singing that to MJ and MJ had better not say that crap to him either.
