Thanks. I have been on the org for a year and a half and I am still looking for my watershed moment. Not quite sure this is it, but at least it is getting some responses! my best response thread was "post a cartoon character"...as a joke with an org friend...it went off seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

Yes I love when we can discuss POSITIVE stuff about Prince, we must realise after all, the fact Prince is a musical genius who has made some of the greatest music known to humankind, is why we all like him. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

The thing that comes to my mind first is side A of the second 'disk' of Sign of the Times (I bought this album originally on vinyl). I know, its only 4 songs, but its just a perfect, almost flawless album side.
Starting with the catchy, 'in your face' dancefloor-anthem U GOT THE LOOK, getting all psychedelic and psycho-sexological with the intricate IF I WAS YOUR GIRLFRIEND, the simple march rhythem and bright, poppy melodies of STRANGE RELATIONSHIP offering 'relieve' after such a trip, closing things off with one of his best pop/rock compositions ever (with an unexpected bluesy, instrumental coda): I COULD NEVER TAKE THE PLACE OF YOUR MAN. And, it doesnt stop there: side B of disk 2 is almost as strong and essential. I have a bit of mixed feelings about 'Its gonna be a beautifull night': its an exciting mix of jazz and funk-elements and gives an idea about Princes live-jams around that time, but sometimes I think another studio-recording would have been better at that place. But, both The Cross and Adore are top-notch, classic material. The Cross is one of his best rock-ballads (I love the simplicity and rawness of the instrumentation and built-up), and gets often overlooked IMO, while Adore is his essential slow soul-ballad.
